Speaking for myself. It is awesome getting shot in the back by four inbred tools. The best is getting shot through a wall that some inbred has glitched into. I know if I put in work to "git gud" I will develop eyes in the back of my head and become invincible to shots by wall glitching inbred. So yeah a level playing field is a myth. That's why inbred tools manipulate gear scores to drop into the 160 and less DZ. I guess its for the best gear that they can't get in the higher bracket. The nerve of some people to think they just want to grief players.

We've all seen the same thing said in the forums here by certain people when defending the DZ or some other aspect of the game. Care to discuss?
While that was a decent article, it hardly applies here. The division is just a buggy game with incompetent developers who dont know how to, or choose not to, listen to their consumer. Rarely do i have problems with the community on the division that i do not face on any other online game..... but mostly the problem comes from the blind sheep who like being spoon fed trash and smile about it, then turn around and shout "toxicity" at paying consumers stating their concerns and opinions regarding the state of the game.

The same people who say "git gud" are the same people who say "you mad?" Or other snide comments. Dont let trolls get to you.

How do you git gud when you join a team of people you don't know in real life so you're not 4:1 or 8:1..and then they kick you from the party, and THEY kill you? How do you git gud when your assailants only ever attack from behind with their superior builds and numbers, with their specials all popped and you're dead before you can count to 1?

The single biggest problem is the crowd of people telling others to get better, when a specific avenue to do so doesn't exist. You keep telling people what they need to do, without providing any framework for getting there. "You suck on your own. So, you must get better on your own. That's all I've got for you." The community aspect of this game...is nonexistent. I've never seen that in a game. Even the community provided for players of the game, is an anti-community. Everyone's gone rogue...even on the forums. It's not about how to improve everyone's abilities at the game...it's about "**** you scrub. This is my game. Git gud." I've seldom across my life time witnessed less empathy and less understanding in anything than I have with this one game. It really is a remarkable experience, because it really shows you just how little many people care about anyone but themselves. Instead of everyone enjoying the game, it's a portion of the crowd ensuring that the rest dont' have fun...and having their own fun by doing it. It's crazy.

My only thought is that when people suggest such things as adapt to the game, oversensitive players see it as "elitist" arrogance. They read it as "git gud". Thing is you do need to adapt, whether you play 2 hours a day or 2 hours a week. This isn't Diablo, WoW, Destiny, CoD or whatever. A new game requires a new approach.

Honestly the only time I recall seeing the phrase "git gud", it was used by Sniper-whatever regarding DZ safehouse sellers. Was funny cuz he was't aware himself what they were selling.

Anyhow, my 2 cents, probably worth less than that,
You know, I agree with you to a certain extent. However, the "git gud" sentiment finds its way into a ton of threads. Just go look at any thread complaining about the Incursion. There's one on the main page right now in which the OP complains about the difficulty and is met with a chorus of "ACTUALLY...it's not hard at all!" responses.

I, for one, would just like to be able to play. Mike errors and unbearable lag for the past week. Weeeee!

This game is like being in a horrible relationship with someone who is an 11/10, incredible in bed, but is awful in every other aspect of being.

That article was nonsense. That wasn't a case of "git gud" that was a case of a polygon embarrassing itself again.

To be clear, I was not saying that this community is the worst offender when it comes to the "Git Gud" responses. I too have seen worse. I posted it because I thought the writer made some valid points about it being the opposite of helpful and community building. Who cares if the person in the video wasn't the greatest player. The point was to show the game, not the player.
Personally I cringe when I read that as a response to somebody. The idea of the DZ only contributed to those with the mentality.

People now a days dont want a challenge they just want a cakewalk. Its time for all of us to bow our heads and pray to God to Git Gud. Its the only way
You still dont see the point.

just imagine the next time you go into the DZ and you get back*****ed constantly by players at level 320 - you cant progress, and every tactic you try ends in levelling down and losing all your DZ funds.

I am not a new player but am talking on behalf of the new DZ players, whether it be 161+ or below, they need to have a chance to get to a level playing field but they cant because the day1 players are far too overpowered.

The whole problem is that UBI/Massive said that the DZ was a PvE zone with POSSIBLE PvP occurrences. The word POSSIBLE is the key word in that statement and is the cause of all the problems on this forum. I have played the game since day 1 and the Betas and from what I have seen and read on the forums and form what I hear on the so called State of the Game is simple. The developers had no intention of the DZ being a PvE friendly zone. Everything they have done is to force the PvE player into the PvP scope of the game. And a perfect example is the introduction of the line cutting at the extraction point. This is just another attempt to force the PvE player into the PvP action by making them stay at the extraction point to defend there loot. Also with ALL the toxicity on the forum over the PvE vs PvP not a word from the moderators or the developers about the situation or that they are going to fix it the problem It has been ignored as if it doesn't exist . No the PvE players where purposely miss-led about the DZ and they have no intention to change any of it. All the added goodies for the DZ are just to get more PvE players into the DZ and continue to try and force them to accept the PvP in the DZ.

I think there's some slippage here. Polygon's doom video raises questions about game proficiency/skill and ability to engage in meaningful criticism. I DONT think game reviews are even that useful, but I also dont think a game reviewer needs to be anything more than moderately competent at games to engage in their craft.

The response to the video was part understandable WTF, b/c the play was pretty bad, but gamergate dip-****s used it as an excuse to target polygon again (this part is not understandable or OK).

In the division, b/c both PVP and PVE activities have very little in the way of weapon normalization aside from some very coarse binning of GS and player level, it's entirely possible that two players (or groups of players) will encounter each other, in contexts where player group A stands basically no chance vs. player group B.

In this context, the overpowered players can seek out similar competition (staying north of DZ03 is an easy way to ensure you only encounter higher leveled agents), but many choose to team up and grief/attack/bait lower level players (or similarly leveled solo players) in DZ01-2 where they are basically immune to NPC damage unless they are extremely careless/reckless. When you factor in the current meta of OP SMG+Sentry4pc, and that it's hard to have 4 pc sentry unless you've played for a decent length of time (incursions or insane luck on daily missions), it's relatively easy to see that there will be circumstances where one group of (high leveled, very strong) players, will make the game difficult or even frustrating for lower leveled or less experienced players if they choose to go in the dark zone.

Given the dark zone is basically billed as a place where rules dont apply, it's hard to imagine any rules or changes that wouldn't alter the original intent...except, for some more sensible way to break up the players into a few logical categories to limit extreme level/experience discrepancies, but maintain the spirit of the darkzone

Good points. I aknowledge what you mean by "sentiment".

I honestly think this community started off on the right foot but that all the bugs, exploits and glitches threw it off course. -How can the guy who exploited FL ectensively see things from the perspective of the guy who got locked out for a month by the bp bug?

As for the incursion, it isn't hard for some. But it does require proprer gear and a decent team. The casual player teaming with randoms may well find it impossible to complete. Exploiters laugh at it. Not sure what the proper solution is, or if there is one other than what we have now.
