One thing that's a bit annoying at times is when your beast companion won't get out of the way. You're in a hut, it's standing in the door like a good kitty, and you're blocked until you point and tell it to move. I would have made it such that if the beast is standing still and you bump it twice, it moves.
Also, when dismissing a beast, it should leave in the general direction you're looking. On more than one occasion, I'm prep'ing to take an outpost or a bonfire, I dismiss the beast and it runs through their camp. Bad kitty. Bad bad kitty >:-(
And the big one that's missing? This was one of those, "uhhh ... something's wrong" moments. I'm in a raging river just below a waterfall where the graphics are done so well you can almost feel the water spray ( good job UBI ), but ... there's no water current. At that point the only thing missing was the withering Pac Mac sound. Even Duke Nukem 3D from 1996 had water current fella's. Must add water current.
Aside from those minor things, the game is otherwise very good and in general I think hits the mark in the spirit of Far Cry. Absolutely stunning graphics.
Actually, I think the animal's animation is the best I've ever seen. Now granted, I'm certainly no game critic with experience of hundreds of games, but their appearance and articulation, even in FC3, were incredible; even better than the human NPCs; near lifelike. Their intelligence in FC5, however ... well, could have a couple of things fixed. It's not huge. Just minor annoyances. Giving them simple voice commands like "quiet", "flank left", etc. from a menu would be huge.
I'd have to imagine coding AI, however, could quickly get out of control, so limits have to be drawn.
