    K/D ratio

    Dear GR team,
assuming that Wildlands will feature PVP respectively adversarial multiplayer, please consider to not include the Kill death ratio in the ingame or website stats (like R6 Siege).
This little stat only leads to toxic behavior and selfish gameplay by the KD junkies.

I do not think that the K/D is meaningless as it shows the players skill to some extent, but good players don´t need this number as they´ll show their skill/performance on the battlefield and not in lobbies while laughing or bragging about people with low K/D.

We didn´t have K/D in GRAW 1/2 for example and these games provided some of the best online experiences/team play I can think of (for me at least).

    Thanks in advance for considering.

    Very good topic Fuchs,

If there is PVP and stats are being shown,
maybe have an option to hide it?

Currently I play a lot of Metal Gear Online, and some
players are so worried about their stats that they will quit out
    if they are getting owned.
Maybe Hiding your stats or only allow friends to few your
    Stats would be an option.

I'm on the fence with this one. I don't care about stats at all - mine or for other players. To me it's silly to get caught up over analytics for a freaking video game, but some ultra competitive players don't feel the way that I do. Since I'll primarily avoid competitive PvP, I don't really have a proverbial horse in this race. I'll roll with whatever is in the game.

    Hey,

that could be a possibility, a kind of privacy option, although I'd prefer that they'll completely left it out.

Analog to Dan, it is not important to me what people think about my K/D, but if such a little number constantly disturbs my hard earned spare time while wanting to enjoy my hobby, then something is wrong.

As you said, people are leaving mid game because they do not want to damage their K/D when being in the losing team.

Btw, do you play MGO on PS4 or X1 ?

ITK5 is on PS4 (If I remember well)

And yes it's an intresting topic.
I think it should not be visible in-game, you already said all problems that it's making in PvP games.
For competitive players that realy want stats everywhere they just need a website with all stats or a stat menu in-game but not accessible during a PvP match. On this page you can compare your stats with all others players or/and friends, and a lot of stats for all egocentric peoples

And for example, players when they start PvP for the first time (if there is a PvP) they should have a screen where they have to choose "Do you want your stats to be invisible / only shared with your friends / vsible by everyone" and with a little star (*)"This choice can be changed later in the stat option menu"

better to leave it out completely

and if viewable in some stat website, then start counting stats after a few hours of MP PVP gameplay....

I'll be honest, I like the stats, but it is a guilty pleasure. Without a doubt it effects player's behaviour and can lead to selfish play, but I don't think to such an extent that it ruins any game. Keeping the kill death stats away from the lobby is well worth considering, though.

I hope they keep the K/D and other such stuff as stats you can see on your own user page, and aren't viewable on a scoreboard in a round. I'd prefer it if they just had it as simple as:

Name ----- Class (if such a thing exists) ---- Points ----- Ping

The K/D ratio is a terrible thing, and causes no end of e-peen waving on the internet, often at the cost of decent squad play and PTFO. Certainly that's been my experience.

This echo's my personal opinion on the matter of displaying score/stats.

Ghost Recon Online/Phantoms took steps to try and reward people more for playing the objective, rather than "playing TDM all the time". I think that would be beneficial in such game modes. If a game mode is objective based, take the emphasis off K/D ratio and number of people you kill. Make the final score of the round, and rewards associated with games based on the OBJECTIVE of that game.

    For example:

If game is capture the flag, reward 1,000 points for capturing a flag, reward 100 points for killing people. If Experience points or leveling up or character rewards are a thing... Make the rewards based off your score. This means people will be more willing to capture a flag than kill people.

    Etc.

I like this semi-related information when it comes to rewarding a player for the game. As stated above though, I don't really care what information is displayed. Stats are cool to see sometimes, but I could care less about what they actually say.
