Hello riders. I'm relatively new to the game, I've been playing about 3 months. I enjoy the bunker challenges and realized that having a bike that isn't fully up is quite a hindrance in trying to win. Because of this I stopped building blueprints even though I have an igor mission available to build the maurader and beat the ghost.
My armadillo, tango and bronco are all now 10/10/10/10. Jackal is 9/9/9/9, mantis is 7/9/8/9. Riptide is 8/8/8/8. I have the maurader and berserker blueprints and should have the ktm on Wednesday.
What should I build next or should I stay patient and max out what I have before building a new bike?
I know there's people here who've played for years. If you could go back knowing what you know now, what would you do?
I can tell what not to do.Don´t spend more coins on the Jackal or the Riptide. Leave those for last. The rest depends on what your goal is.
Yeah, sorry to tell you now, but Berzerker is THE tier3 bike. The good news is... a 4/4/4/4 berzerker can probably stomp your 8/8/8/8 riptide, so you arent as far behind on tier3 as it may seem. The only good you'll ever get from that riptide is in the bunker, where most folks are likely to be less upgraded than you. Phantom also has very limited use.... Not many 100% speed tracks in tier3 at all. But at the moment you are at a severe tier3 disadvantage, so Berzerker should be first.
Ktm next to 5/5/5/5, because it dominates so many tier1. Closely followed by finishing out fhe Mantis (who is the go-to Tier2 bike). Then consider finishing out KTM. (If you really like pvp do Mantis first since KTM isn't in bunker).
Once you are done with that, the new "legendary" bike for tier2 may arrive, which you will want more than Marauder (based on what KTM did to Tier1). Dont build any marauder blueprints until ots time to upgrade or you will suffer in the bunker. After those previous ones.... Do Marauder, phantom.... Jackal/riptide dead last.
As was said, Jackal is something to skip

The reason I put so much into the jackal was getting my butt whooped in the bunker whenever it was the required ride.Originally Posted by xitooner Go to original post
The riptide was primarily upgraded to hit the switch on the refinery to get my last data cube, gain access to the dark machine and get my clockwork orangish outfit but also to make it competitive in the bunker. I really, really, REALLY hate watching someone pull away from me off the start and knowing that unless they are terrible I probably won't be able to keep up.
So you're saying there's no KTM in the bunker? That's a very useful bit of info, thank you. It will be built immediately upon getting the blue prints.
That's basically my fear. At one point my armidillo, mantis, and riptide were very low on upgrades. I had gotten them up enough to pass missions but against real people with higher upgrades I was getting bunker slaughtered. I decided I'd max out what I had before building anything new but I'm getting anxious for new toys. If I can have the KTM and upgrade slowly, I can wait until I've maxed the others out before building another.
Then it's still tricky. So far, despite being crappy and bouncy, the riptide hasn't really stopped my progress. I completed the dark machine, beat anba in it as well, passed all fanboy missions (with one slight banana peel exception to get the puppy going).
I do need to beat Miranda at the refinery, I haven't pulled off the landing on the slant after the drop down to the launch. I would prefer an agile bike like the beserker but...
I have simple beat the ghost missions waiting and those will require the maurader.
Nice to know I can at least build the ktm and not have it be a bunker liability. That's what I'm trying to avoid.
I'll probably hold off on the last jackal upgrades at this point. I feel when if I lost with it in the bunker now, it's usually me not the bike.
Yeah, no KTM in Bunker so far. Donkey was added a few months back but ... Also no AgentBike or Stallion in Bunker. Being fully upgraded on a bike can definitely be an advantage there, thats for sure; especially on the really obscure ones like the Phantom that is so expensive most folks dont do it.
Not building tier 2 speed bike, and especially tier 3 speed bike will make your life easier in bunker
I was very happy about not building Phantom, since all my bikes were maxed, so it was time I always got easy to beat opponents in bunker who probably didn't own Phantom also, but haven't maxed their bikes yet. I collected majority of chips to TT being in this state.
You should definitely build the Berserk, it's the go to bike for T3.
However, you DO NOT need maxxed bikes to be able to compete in the bunker (unless you stumble upon ace riders then even a max bike won't do the trick), after 7/7/7/7, it mostly comes down to skill and using the proper routes, and that even for setting records. Imo a 6/6/6/6 berserk should do fine against most riders.
For example there is a rider called SlongBlong, and none of his bikes are maxxed, and all of his times are top20. If you look at some of his tier 3 recs, his bikes are around 6 or 7.
I'd say you build the other bikes as it will provide some diversity, and the bikes you have are adequate for the bunker.
Very true; there definitely comes a time when your skill is much more important than your bike upgrades. I have a leftover alt ID I was using to learn more about the scoring algorithm... I started from the beginning, all of its major bikes are 5/5/5/5 or less, and I have around 100 tickets total . . . I was able to reach rank 7 this season pretty easily on skill alone. (However, it was VERY frustrating to constantly see my weak Armadillo getting left behind on tracks where I knew I was better, but my bikes were inferior)However, you DO NOT need maxxed bikes to be able to compete in the bunker (unless you stumble upon ace riders then even a max bike won't do the trick), after 7/7/7/7, it mostly comes down to skill and using the proper routesI spent 2 days of losing to get back to a rank where I can comfortably make chips at will without need of spending tickets ...
