Apparently you don't listen so well... They said that about guns...Originally Posted by JD TheNutz Go to original post

So, unless you were there for the game design meetings where gear sets were discussed...you've got nothing but an opinion...and a bad attitude.
Dismiss the picture if you like. Its the ONLY concrete evidence in this discussion, because it is a clear statement on how Massive envisioned the gear being used.
...and if you think a bug being left in the game for a month and not talking about it or doing anything about is disqualifying?
Thank God you didn't play Destiny.
Bungie JUST managed to find a bug in the Iron Banner loot system code that was resulting in really poor gear drop rates. It took them THREE months to admit that there was a bug...and SIX months to find it and fix it.
So forgive me if I fail to get worked up about Massive letting this thing go a mere three weeks.
That image has zero credibility. ZERO.Originally Posted by kellygreen45 Go to original post
They sent all us season pass owners an image saying we would all get the sports outfits, and that turned out to be false. So how much credibility do these images have? Zero.
Not to mention, the guy wearing the nomad gear has a double barrel shotgun. You think they intend people using that set to use double barrel shotguns as well?
Talk about grasping for strings in the developers defense.
I agree so much with this. I absolutely LOVE games I play that keep PvP and PvE gear COMPLETELY seperate. I believe Guild Wars (the original - as I never did get into GW2) did this, as did Rift? I may be mistaken there but I believe those two games had a strong presence with both PvP and PvE players because they kept separate gear sets, and as such when the community of either side spoke out about something, then adjustments could be made a LOT easier WITHOUT the stress of pissing off the other side. Because let's face it - if you cater to PvE, you will absolutely enrage the PvP community, and vice versa.Originally Posted by TGxBaronO1 Go to original post
These are two COMPLETELY different play-style groups of people and you absolutely can NOT combine them both successfully and have a game that has a happy community. These forums are a great example of this. The forums are very toxic with trash talking and flaming because the developers decided to take PvE and PvP and try to mix the communities together. While I agree that the DZ is awesome in it's purpose and feel, I think that the gear used in there should have been specialized and kept separate from PvE gear completely. They already made a step toward this with the Nomad set, which is basically meant for PvP play, but is NOT restricted to it so players use it in PvE.
In order for Massive and the Developers to start going in the right direction with this, I think they need to think about making PvP gear isolated BEFORE considering making more gear sets. I am excited about Juggernaut coming out, and they already committed to it - but before going beyond that, they need to stop and consider a separate PvP set, and make it so that you can NOT use PvE gear in the DZ, and you can NOT use PvP gear in PvE.
Then, and ONLY then, do I think great steps will be taken to make more people much happier with certain gear set and item changes within the game.
yeah you cannot balance for PvP and expect it all to be hunky dory in PvE, and visa versa.
the 2 ares are completely different, and need to be balanced separately.
wow went through the same problems. so what did they do, they created sets specific for PvP, that were balanced for PvP. they left the skills alone. that was the best they could do.

I'm not the one grasping at straws here. Like I said, I have been closely following this game since it was first announced at E3..and when Massive ****s something up, I have no problems saying that.
Everything that has come from Massive has made it clear that they intended Sentry to be used in a support role. Their **** up was in NOT programming this into the gear set form the beginning. Not changing the rules in the middle of the game.
..and I've never seen such desperation to dismiss what Massive has had to say about THEIR OWN PRODUCT...and substitute other people's self-serving ideas for that.
Give it rest.
Simple answer to OP just give up. Youre wasting your time with Massive fixing taking so slow. They only change important stuff with major patches eg 2 months or so.
Im so glad i stopped gearing and min/maxing once i got sentry set. I knew massive will start adjusting many stuff. Like other thread recently pointed out this game is still in Beta.
YOU test stuff for Massive not other way around.
