Was spamming Lexington Event Center on Challenging for Phoenix credits this morning, and I played with enough different randos exhibiting the same behavior that I had to come in here and ask this question:
How the **** is it, that people still don't know about running all the way to the cubbie on the far left of the roof as soon as they exit the f'ing elevator? It's a cakewalk to mop up the entire rooftop portion of the mission from there. But no...everyone scatters all over the GD place, gets flanked, gets f'ed six ways from Saturday...
Everyone has to have played this enough friggin' times by now to know this trick, right? All morning I've been playing with goons that end up with their dead bodies strewn all over the rooftop because they just want to run around like chickens with their heads cut off. Watching people try to run and gun the Challenge mode missions like it's the DZ is maddening.
I can't believe my luck. All morning I'm stuck with people that can't get in through the entrance of a challenge mode mission without being face first on the pavement.
I played with some random people one time and i was the only one with a mic. I told em every freaking time follow me and run to the back. First there was one then two and finally we all went back there. Problem was, there were people in the group that just was not doing enough damage and kept dying. Even though we all went back there, we ended up wiping because i was doing all the damage while trying to keep them alive at the same time. After we finally passed that part i started to walk them through the next part of bottle-necking the next mob in the door but i just said nope! I found a new group and moved on. Anyhow, if you see me online hmu...Will do some runs with ya.
I am more shocked that anyone needs "tricks" for challenging missions any more. Step out of the elevator and go to work melting enemies. Or you can waste time running across the map to your sleep over spot...Originally Posted by Three Snowshoes Go to original post
Its awesome hearing people talk about challenging missions as easy as step out and go to work. You better have 3 dudes as geared as you must be to do that. If I run it with people that are like me and have run it 100 or so times, then yes. But the player base is definitely changing. High scores but not much play time.
I love that the OP was the only "gud" player, and that everyone else was a "goon". As far as I know, there is no one right way to do a mission, even if there may be easier or better conceived approaches.
It reminds me of a time where I grouped up via matchmaking and this one guy was barking orders while rushing into the fray, only to be killed EVERY TIME, and then blame us for not following him or picking him up fast enough. We cleaned up the mess, albeit more slowly than he'd have liked, and we did it carrying his dead body the entire way. I think we all had mics, but no one bothered addressing this person after a short while. I guess it takes all kinds...
