Please buff the weapons in 1.2, and buff the other gear sets too | Forums

So I was pretty happy with the list of fixes that were announced during the State of the Game, but I was also kind of appalled that you were doing absolutely nothing to buff the underused weapons, because "you didn't have enough data". Well, did you think about WHY you didn't have enough data? Maybe because people weren't using the guns, because they were too weak? Why on earth would you think you would be able to get more data, if you didn't do anything to incentivize using the underused weapons? People aren't suddenly going to start using LMGs and shotguns en masse just because you said you didn't have enough data. Seriously, just buff the other weapons, give them inherent bonuses like SMGs and MMRs already have. I really, really don't want to wait another month for this to change, because I love using the underused weapons, but I feel like I'm gimping myself.

Also, I was somewhat bothered by the nerf to the Sentry gear set. What the devs didn't quite understand was that the Sentry set wasn't overpowered, it was the only set with a viable full set talent. Striker's full set talent is much harder to effectively use, especially at range, Nomad set overall is garbage and the set talent is broken, and Tactician's full talent offers nothing for skill power heavy builds. All the other sets are rather mediocre, while Sentry is effective, though not game-breakingly so. Please just increase the effectiveness of the other sets, because we're still not going to use them afterwards as they're just worse overall anyway.

how is making the sentry set only for smg's nerfing it? It was broken as hell, and they fixed it. But, making it so that it works only with one weapon type isn't a nerf, it's a change to the gear.

I agree. The sentry set was the only set you could actually see doing something.
With all the skill caps the tac gear isn't needed. With a striker the penalties are for too steep, especially on console.
Senty you could actually use and get results.
I'd assume that the pc guys should be seeing better results with striker set bonus but for most us console guys it's literally useless.
At least when they change sentry all the sets will be worthless and people will mix things up a little. It won't be much. 2 piece sentry, 3 piece striker and either reckless chest or savage gloves will be the new meta. Plenty of guys using that right now competing with full sentry just fine.

It was confirmed in the most recent SotG that weapon balancing won't be happening in the 1.2 update but afterwards.
