Its not the same as a glitch in the weapon stats where it was doing something it wasnt suppose to be doing in the first place. We have to spend credits on these items and then re-roll and craft these items grind the incursion and hope to get the roll we want. Then when people cry like babies about how something works it gets nuked not nerfed. Chaining the amount of damage, or adding a slight clause like all the other sets would have been fine instead of saying no autos. This dev team is just completely without direction they dont think in advance and when they mess up they over fix rather than slightly tweak. Every time i want to like this game more the devs find someway to muck it up.
It has zero to do with forum complaints, it wasn't working as they intended. People thinking it was supposed to work with sub machineguns are ignorant, it was clearly intended for sniper builds. It will also work very well with burst fire AR's and shotguns.

Gun nuts: Do burst-first weapons count as Semi-Automatic? Massive said it would only work with semi-auto weapons (though they seemed to imply bolt action would also work).

    No.

Burst fire is considered automatic for all intents and purposes. Semi auto is a single round fired per trigger pull.

Rebalance and patch is not even out yet.

And we still do not know what they will exactly do with it.
    Semi-auto weapons only is vague...
Will the burst fire Sub be king? It is worthless right now but it is not automatic so maybe it will beetle into semi? I will try it. Otherwise it sounds like all the gear sets will kinda suck. Hopefully they have some tricks up their sleeve.

    I hate nerfing, but this isn't a nerf. It's a fix.

It was designated as a marksman build and there's nothing marksman like with SMG stacking.

It's will still be hella powerful even after the fix, so I'm not really sure why all the complaining.

I was just sort of speculating here, i guess we will find out. I think they are just removing the stacks from full autos...

But, when you start forcing people to change their play style which has taken time to develop by nerfing gear and weapons that has taken so much time to get and create, especially in this game, it's time to start looking at other games play. I would understand nerfing something if everyone could not get a set of sentry gear, but everyone can. Always give (buff) never take away (nerf)!!!. I had over 3000 hours into Destiny and when they started nerfing stuff it was over for me a lot of others who played a lot of PvP. To be honest I did not care if the DZ dropped good stuff, if it did great, if not who cares I was just there to have fun and be competitive. I guarantee that I am older than most of the people playing this game and can play this game as much as I want because of the business decision I have made, but nerfing stuff in competitive play is a bad business decision and actually kind of baffles me that companies will do it. Will I stop playing ?? Hell no love this game, but I just hope this does not become something that happens all the time. All of you who have bought season passes have bought stock in this game for it's longevity, but you should have first waited to make sure they are making the right decisions that's what keeps a game going.
Is that what you or anyone else wants? For each and every person to be running the exact same gear? For one set of gear o make all others irrelevant? Is it easier to change the stats of one set, or all of the others? C'mon. Think a little.

As for the season pass...people buy it because you get a discount on the material by paying up front. It's not an uncommon practice at all.

Quoted for truth. There's a huge difference between a nerf, and fixing something that was never intended to be in the first place.

It's funny. People pursue stuff because they know it's OP, then act with surprise and disgust when it gets nerfed, like they had no clue whatsoever it was a possibility. lo Makes me laugh. It's like getting upset they fixed the Falcon Lost glitch. You know it's not an intended part of the game. It's going to get fixed. They've created huge inequities in game play...and it's what's driving people away from the title.

    1. It was not a nerf. It was a fix for an EXTREMELY broken and severely OP set.
    2. When it was first announced, the set was advertised as a Marksman set. Giving bonuses to non-marksman players was a severely bad idea and that is what made the set severely OP.
    3. The assault types have Strikers. They just never used it because they realized how crazy unbalanced and OP Sentry made them. Technically it was an exploit/glitch to be using that set with assault weapons.
    4. Strikers gear is designed for assault rifles. Have fun using it

Absolutely not. Burst is not Semi. I am hoping they do NOT let burst work with Sentry either, as that would be just as broken as it was before. Burst is not even in the same ball-park as Semi-Automatic. Semi-Automatic is very specific - ONE round per trigger pull.

Now, since Bolt Actions ARE Marksman rifles, then yes, I do agree they should work with Sentry sets.

    1) Debatable.
    2)Marksman =/= Marksman Rifle
    3)Technically? No, not really.
    4) Strikers is designed for assault rifles? Since when?

You sound like you're referencing a design doc but I've never seen anything to suggest it exists. Still looking for that stuff suggesting Sentry should only work with Marksman Rifles.
