I've been having a really weird and interesting after effect from playing the game with my favorite beast, the Saber Tooth Tiger. I have to admit, when I first saw the 'Pet' button, I thought it was funny, but stupid. Then I did it and it felt soothing, like petting a real pet. I was really surprised and intrigued by this effect, but then it got weirder.
I'm sure that everyone that plays with the Saber Tooth Tiger, knows that the cat, like all big animals, will get in your path and make walking in a straight line difficult at times. Well, after playing for a few hours, I'll get up and actually feel like that something is blocking my path when I stand next to furniture and I'll start to walk around it, as though my Beast is with me. Again, I was surprised and intrigued by this effect also, but I've never had something like this happen and I want to know if I'm alone.
I'm beginning to believe that Ubisoft developers really did a great job of tapping into some of our actual primal instincts. Has anyone else had a similar experience?
I think you're overthinking your situation, but that type of stuff does happen when you put a lot of effort into immersing yourself into the game. When I first started playing the game, I was so into it that I couldn't look at red flowers without thinking about Red Leaf. I also couldn't get Niiii, niiiii out of my head and thought about Takkar saying it whenever someone got all anxious or stressed.
Also, many times the in-game animal sounds scared the **** out of my dog.
But I don't think it's their way of tapping into our primal instincts lol, I highly doubt primitive humans walked in wonky lines behind their pet Sabre-Tooth Tigers.
