Was the game really finished on release?

    Hi,

I spend alot of time exploring the world in games, and so I did that in The Division aswell and I've seen alot of things that seem suspicious to me. For example the last 2 areas of the map Midtown East and Turtle Bay. If you take some time exploring them you notice that there are alot of places you can't climb or walk to because it's just bugged. Ropes you can't use and even an entire place that's sealed off. In Midtown East on Park Avenue there's this church you can't go to (of course we have the cover glitch for that). There's just an empty tent in there, ladders that go through other tents so you can't even reach them and also empty rooms that make no sense at all. There's also a few graphic glitches around these places. I even found some new material locations that the game never lead me to.

Another big issue is the closed off harbor where the Intrepid is. That's either future content or just stuff that wasn't finished on release. There's several clue placeholders there and also a bunch of sewer entrances that lead you out of the map because the textures are missing.

So what I want to know is if those areas will get some content or at least fixing. Staying there for longer than a quick safe house break makes you feel like you're playing in an alpha.

I don't think modern game projects are ever finished. They're just due.

There are a ton of greenlight games on steam that would disprove your indie games theory.

NO it wasn't ... and this pattern of releasing games with these amount of glitches / issues / unfinished / unchecked things needs to stop. #makegaminggreatagain lol Developers and Publishers (more specifically publishers) need to bring back pride in their work and their products and stop worrying about releasing a game on time, and start releasing games that are great / tested / and virtually problem free. Stop worrying about that bonus they'll get for releasing on time ...

Not to get in to the big things like skills / talents not working (or working in complete opposite of what they're supposed to do - I'm looking at you damage from elites), wall glitching, missions not starting properly, people falling through the world, etc etc etc the list just goes on and on with this game. I'm talking simple things, like the clothing being marked red but is blue, or the woman near the cosmetics vendor who obviously should be standing up front talking to the people in line but is instead talking to the wall, your character model twisting unnaturally (this is a AAA game released in 2016 right?) ... the game plays like a mod of a game and these issues have to be some of the most simple things to check and are completely wrong and went unchecked ... and that just blows my mind. You expect some glitches in new releases but not like this ...

^ This ... that is a major problem with games today. AND someone made a bad decision with giving this the green light as it was. Their QA team needs to be fired and replaced because they obviously did a bad job - that or they released a completely different version than what was tested locally / in-house. They should also properly test this not only on an internal LAN but across a live network like how the end user will be experiencing it (them not testing it across a live network is just an assumption). The alpha and beta's alone should have halted release of the game for another few months. I really enjoy the game and I still play it daily with friends (those that aren't bored with it yet), but the issues both major and minor should never have been released with the game and it's a shame as this has changed my view on Ubi / Massive going forward for all of their new game releases.

only us the gamers can make it stop, like in late 80s 90s, the video games crash, they kept re-releasing the same games, with different skins, people stopped buying them, thats the ONLY way they will stand up and notice, hit them were it hurts the £££££££$$$$$$$$

This problems seems to be more with company called Ubisoft. Anyone who has played Ubisoft released games past few years already know about quality they give to customers.

Remember 3d Realm and the Duke Nukem Forever? They released finished games, who were crap, and went bankrupt because they could not finish DNF on time. Most companies these days fear bankruptcy, who doesn't, and then release games to early. Before the crisis, banks had more patience and financed games, taking risks. Maybe we need to blame the banks too.
