Logging to change DZ: The Correct Procedure?

Till recently I've not had an issues leaving the DZ and my group, logging out of my character (going back to the character select screen), and logging back into the game (with the same character), and inviting people back into my group...

Lately, well, logging out and logging back in isn't changing my DZ... I'm stuck back in the same one I just left... (Like the one I just tried to leave with the 12 man rogue group. )

So whats the proper way to do it to make sure it changes..?

If it matters I'm on PC.

Re-logging never works for me :/
I matchmake + leave group, always works for me.
Eager to know if it's a better method though, one without all the loading screens :P

Matchmaking to another instance is the best way to change the Dark Zone instance. Logging in an out never did it for me either. Also, filling the party can sometimes trigger a server transition by default.

here's what i do when running solo..

    1) leave dz and travel to post office
    2) log out
    3) make a quick coffee (instant coffee)
    4) log back in
    5) go to dz

works 4 out of 5 times that i'm on a different server

Is there a way to confirm you actually switched servers without guessing?

Trying this... I'm not finding anyone to join. I had one guy join on me but as party leader I have to assume I was going back to the DZ I was just in... Going on ten minutes now.

I really just feel there isn't any DZ to join on PC because Ubisoft has cut the number of servers in use...

If you leave loot on the ground in DZ before you leave and change servers, the loot will be gone if you're in a new server.

I was able to reliably change DZ instances when I was in DZ05/DZ06 checkpoints by matchmaking for DZ. It took a while to find a group, my game loaded me into one of 2 possible safe-houses, but I was able to leave a group and be in positively new instance. I had dropped few blue/purple items in The Pit before I switched instances and when I checked back after switch all loot was gone.

Matchmake for DZ>get into group>reload into safe house>leave group>leave safe house = new instance.
