I know that RNG means that You just have to be lucky to get what You want but maybe there is a factor that has influence on Your rolls?
Last night I bought FW M1A blueprint and my friend did too. I wanted (of course) Deadly/brutal/ and the third to be destructive (although I know I should go for balance). I did 10 rolls and got ****. My friend did one roll and got Deadly/brutal/destructive. I mean come on... How is it possible that someone is THAT lucky? Or am I so unlucky? It's really hard to be friends with him now
(especially because he is taunting me with that all the time)
Maybe there is something that has influence on crafting?
I'm low on skill power - why am I getting mostly talents that require high SP?
Maybe they should add recalibration option to weapons so You could change at least one of the talents You get.
Welcome to RNG mate. There isn't a single game with loot and RNG that has been kind to me.Originally Posted by IHAVOCI Go to original post
But that is the nature of things. Your frustration comes from the "gambler's fallacy". Typically if I tell you that something has a 50% chance to be good and 50% to be bad, if you would think that all you had to do is craft 2 times and one of them would be good. You'd be wrong.
Each time those odds reset. It might take you more than that, and it might never happen. If something had a 1% chance of dropping, it could drop from the first time, and it could never drop.
The odds are irrelevant. And as far as I know, there is nothing influencing them. Welcome to my life.

To OP no matter how much more loot Massive plans with 1.2 this basic RNG will stay same. We will just have more rolls per hour by average than we have now thats it. Many will not get item with stats they look for. There has been many threads about this RNG element taking into account ALL possible variations and the chance is very very tiny. You friend got jackpot in lottery world thats all.
I have pointed out and asked to have more control over stats = progression than adding just more loot. Massive does not want to to have more control over progression rather have huge random luck element.

Welcome to the RNG game. I s*it you not when I'm saying this; I have personally crafted 102 MP-5 SMGs because I really wanted to have decent one. But nah, bro. Sometimes you just don't "deserve" to get lucky. Oh, and from those 102 guns I made before quitting 1 was almost decent (3%crit hit heal and destructive) but when I'm creating a DPS build.. Not so useful.
What I and my friends (when we still did played this "game") noticed was that with high electronics we constantly got more DPS-oriented talents to your crafted guns and vice versa.
Really, really un-logical and frustrating crafting sucks the life (and parts) out of most players. For little to no reward, just like looting. So dead horse there.
And what comes to the prints, theres not much sense to save up your credits, FW M1A sure, go for it, just remember to get mats for 12311 crafting attempts and don't forget to sacrifice your mother and sisters to the RNG-gods. If you want to have a chance in getting even a decent product from crafting.
if you craft a 204 anything to replace your 182 piece, that crafted piece should always be better and, more importantly, usable right off the bat, period. End of story.
As far as the talents go, okay so it's random. That's ok, but why can't we recali one of them. Make it a one time roll only. Meaning you get one shot to re roll one of your talents. After that, it's set.
