Let's just make zero restrictions so people can overpower themselves within a week so all the people who can't spam it that much have even more reason to complain they are getting murdered by overpowered/overgeared people. You probably also complain to your boss that your paychecks are time-gated too don't you?

People play other games that are worth playing. I don't think there is any great discovery there man. Your console/pc is made for it... One good game is not going to stop me from playing another good game. You play what you like. And not everyone likes every type of game.
The irony is most of the overgeared people in this game exploited / cheated / hacked (on PC) there way to that position, so it doesn't matter in the long-run, ironically.

I play other games in between Division sessions, but I like the overall feel and setting of TD most of all.

However, it's not living up to the potential I, and many others had when we bought the game at release... Which is a shame because all the right pieces are there, but they are being reconfigured into something a lot of people don't want to play which may mean the game gets shutdown earlier than later.

If that happens, I will play something else, but as stated, I criticize because I like the game. If I didn't care, I wouldn't be here. Plain and simple.

-The HVT and HRT will be time gated to once a day, once a week
-The DZ attracts the worst in the gaming communities which is the number one reason it's driving real gamers away

If the devs truly want TD to succeed, they are going to have to address these three things and fast, IMO because not just OW, but No Man's Sky, and other quality games are being released and soon...
To an extent I have been critical of some features or the lack of same in this game, but to be fair give the game a chance to redeem itself. We have got whatever improvements are coming in 1.2 through mostly objective criticism of mistakes the dev has made in the original release and subsequent updates to date. Having said that, let them make mistakes first, before we criticise. We haven't even see the patch notes, let alone played the changes.

Guess people will think twice about getting a petition going for a game that was never intended to be on PC ... then the Developer / Publisher rush it out and then you get things occurring like the hackers, pc only glitches, the drop off in player base due to the hackers and the glitches etc etc ...

And another big chunk could have been the failed DZ experiment, forcing two different player types into the same zone was just a bad idea from the very beginning. Unfortunately they will not correct that and just act like everybody loves it.
A lot of truth in that in my opinion. The game was not launched as a PvP game. It's not a PvP game. It's not a PvE game either. Everyone seems to have the mindset that it's one or the other when really it's a mix of both. Where the game has suffered for me is the lack of variety. I don't always want to go into the DZ but what else is there to do out of it once you have completed everything? Ever an optimist I live in hope that 1.2 will surprise in a good way.

For the PVP players there is not enough real PVP happening, so they have to gank on lowbies out of boredom ( I am not even blaming them for that ) and for the PVE players there is still too much PVP happening to enjoy the PVE aspect of the DZ.

The Dark Zone is just like the Homer car in some way, trying to be everything and yet not being good at anything.

You are exactly right and 1.2 is just trying to bait players to go back into the DZ. The developers just can't get it that you cannot force players to play a certain game style.. And that's all the 1.2 update is trying to do with it's changes to the DZ.

According to steam charts, the game has less than 11,000 players on average over the last week..
not to mention the fact steam only accounts for probably 40% of the original sales of the game, direct purchases wouldnt show up on STEAM graphs.

This... just 100% this. I also believe it all started with the 1.1 update which almost eliminated the penalties for going Rogue which only resulted in the DZ getting worse.

I am on console and have loved the game from day one, despite me having the backpack glitch locking me out of the game for almost a month. It still makes me wonder how strong I would be without that time lost. I mostly just replay the incursion and help other get through it that haven't. I go into the DZ for about 30 minutes a day and don't PvP, but just trying to get to lvl 75 for some decent gear. I still play 3 or 4 hours a day and don't expect that to slow anytime soon.
