    General gameplay

I have been playing farcry4 for some time now, really enjoy it. My son wants to play. How do I add him so that he can play, without erasing my game?

you can't the game only supports one save slot

only way to do it is back up your saves to a thumb drive and cut and paste em in when you want to play your game

You can replay missions and have multiple save files . its not that hard to do .
what i do is right when you start the mission , and the mission name is displayed on my screen , is Alt tab out of the game,
Then open C:\ Program files X86 \ Ubisoft \ Ubisoft game launcher \savegames \ *a folder with a long series
of letters and numbers Varies from system to system* \ 856

Then open my thumb drive make a new folder on my usb thumb drive with the name of the mission like , Dont_look_down or A_darkPlace or death_fromAbove ...ect.. ect..

then copy and paste the 856 folder into the new folder i made with the name of the mission

to replay that mission i copy and paste that 856 folder back to

    C:\ Program files X86 \ Ubisoft \ Ubisoft game launcher \savegames \ *a folder with a long series
of letters and numbers Varies from system to system* \ 856

you can create multiple saves this way ... and replay any mission , i made backups of every mission in the game, so i can replay them with differnt weapons and loadouts.
(you can also play both sides of the Balance of Power missions by doing this , as the missions from Sabal are Different then what you get from Amita)

each save consists of 4 small files
    1.save
    1.save.upload
    2.save
    2.save.upload

one is an auto save the other is a user created save point, the other ones are upload files that save to the cloud ,and it will always make those .upload files even if you shut off the cloud save option in Uplay settings

see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E8cTOvbgyrs < by 04AM again thank you man for making this video when i asked
or use Akunamatta's guide and use a .bat file

the steam version of the game, saves your game to
    C:\ Program files X86 \ Ubisoft \ Ubisoft game launcher \savegames \ *a folder with a long series
of letters and numbers Varies from system to system* \ 856

the Uplay only version they are in
    C:\ Program files X86 \ Ubisoft \ Ubisoft game launcher \savegames \ *a folder with a long series
of letters and numbers Varies from system to system* \ 420

you do have to shut off the Uplay Cloud save option in the Uplay client settings .. but you should do this anyway, as it can create problems with a corrupted cloud save (it happened to me with FarCry 3 years ago and i had to delete my saved games and start the game all over , was the only way to fix it )

oh and ALWAYS before you start a new game go to that 856 folder and clear out and delete the saves you have left in there ...BEFORE you start a new game , not doing so can make the game go a bit WONKY , like one time i did not clear that out.... and i had ZERO Pagans Wrath convoys appear at all in my game , and i was unable to unlock the vehicle take down Skill.

Yeah, this is the typical thoughtlessness of developers these days. Little consideration for the player but instead implement plenty to make the experience inconvenient, for example no choice of save points, inability to switch levels mid-game, no playing more than one game concurrently, reduce benefits if not playing online as a single player, long tedious intros (see Just Cause 3), inability to skip cut scenes, inability to skip tutorials/opening scenes (yawn) and so on. Software designers these days don't think. It's about making players slaves to their system.
