Why a 14 ban for cheating isn't enough. Reset the character as well!

Look, i think it's great that the policy has been changed to ban players caught cheating for 14 days instead of 3 days. I can understand that you can't just out right ban players permanently for the first offense. That's fine, but there needs to be resets for anyone who is exploits/cheater on top of the 14 day ban. If not, then the damage is already done. Players cheat to get gear/high dz rank and that affects all the players in the long run.

Players caught cheating need to have their gear wiped, credits wiped, dz rank set to zero, crafting materials set to zero, everything. If you want to leave them at level 30, i can understand that, but everything else needs to be wiped.

I believe the plan is to first give a 14-day ban, then a permanent ban for repeat offenders.

So calm down, please. The light at the end of the tunnel is just ahead.

If they could monitor and collect data as to what was obtained during the cheating, then I'd say a character roll back or gear wipe is totally in the realm of additional penalties...my thinking, 14 day ban in hopes the cheater will either have gotten it out of his system, went to play another game, or learned their lesson. Perma ban for those that didn't. My other thinking, they don't have enough data to accurately and fairly penalize cheaters based on their level of cheating and more importantly when and to what effect.

To be honest, I'd handel it like Valve with their VAC - They've got the "NO CHEAT TOLERANCE", so they do just perma ban everyone who gets cought in the act.

This us the way it should be handled. But at the rate people are leaving this game all that will be left is hackers and hardcore players.

I guess there are more people who're leaving the game BECAUSE of the hackers. So if there'd be less hackers there'd still be more ppl actually playing and enjoying the game.
But you might be right, it does look like it is already too late for such ban measures now that so many ppl stoped playing already.

What a cop out, why not just perma banned from the start since you know they are breaking "your rules" you have set for the game Massive.

The 14-day ban is a good initial ban.

The only way the 14-day initial / permaban after system works though, is if those who get the 14-day ban get closely monitored when their initial ban is up.

It's no good giving people 14-day bans, and then give them free reign for a month or two before they get hit with the permaban again.

I don't know how realistic it is, but if they act up again after their 14-day ban, that permaban has to be almost instant for this system to really work.
