Everyone, just take a second to read this-DZ, Solo play, Business 101

Alright so I have been reading the forum posts for awhile now and have noticed that there is quite a large disagreement as to what should be done regarding the dark zone. As it stands right now we mainly have two camps: those who want a player versus enemy only dark zone (Commonly referred to as Carebears) and those who want it to stay as it is (Commonly referred to as ***holes and sociopaths)

I would like to start this off by saying that neither side is inherently right or wrong. The people who want a PvE only darkzone are just as in the right as those who like the PvP aspect. This is because you are the consumer, you have a right to want to have an experience that you enjoy the most. However, the big issue for me is usually how the PvP guys justify not wanting to change the dark zone. The main reasons that I have seen given are that it would ruin the tension and defeat the purpose of the dark zone. And they would be right... However, those points dont really work as reasons why it should not be done and here is why. This video game is a product that is produced and sold by a company and its only purpose is to generate income for said company. What the original vision for the game was and how it was advertised does not matter anymore. At this point Ubisofts main concern is going to be how to get more people to buy the DLC. The best way to ensure people are going to spend that 40 dollars on the season pass is to make the changes to the game that will make the majority of the consumer base happy. And just by judging from these forum posts, the majority of players do not enjoy the PvP in the darkzone(Sorry PvP guys! I enjoy going rogue occasionally too). And I feel the number is percentage of those who do not enjoy PvP in the darkzone is even higher due to the fact that most casual players are not likely to come post on the forums, and that most causal players are not running 4 man teams with headsets going rogue in the darkzone, the fact is that most (and I do mean most; not all, for those guys who will come on here saying they are casual and enjoy going rogue) casual players do not enjoy the risk of getting all their gear stolen and getting deranked as well as losing money and keys when killed by rogue players; this is just not something that most people are going to find appealing as a constant. Yes, at times the tension can be fun, but other times people just want to relax and play some damn video games where you only have to worry about the npcs. What I am trying to say is that the decision should be based on what the majority of players want. And Ubisoft is going to need to gather some data. I think the best way to do this would to add a simple two option question on the start screen: Do you enjoy the PvP in this game or would you like to see a viable PvE option added. Both sides have a right to enjoy the game. Just because this game was marketed as having PvP is no reason to now force a large portion of the player base to play how they do not want to play. And just because you do not enjoy PvP does not make everyone who does a sociopath. Players should be given a choice between the two, if they want PvP its there and they can have it, but at the same time they are not forced to participate in order to really get into the endgame

Now that i have gotten all that out of the way. I just want to go ahead and make something clear....A PvE only darkzone is not going to happen. The darkzone has this very interesting meta to it and I think changing it into an optional PvP would just be a weird design choice. Instead what they really need to do is make the PvE map viable post level 30. I think they made a huge mistake completely removing bosses from the normal map. What needs to happen is the darkzone needs to stay PvP, re spawning bosses need to be added back to the PvE map (Once every hour of two) and daily bounties for named enemies need to be added for each of the named sections on the map. Now alot of the players will simply say "Just go do challenging missions" or "you have an incursion" but this is basically the same problem as PvP vs PvE except this is about Solo Vs Group players. Neither of these activities is viable for Solo players without thousands of hours of grinding and even then it can still be dicey and rewards will likely be downgrades. The Division needs to take a page out of destinys book for this one. Max gear score needs to be viably attainable multiple ways. You should not be forced to play a certain way to get the best stuff.I know this game was marketed more towards group play but you need to understand that those are not going to be the only type of people buying this game, this is just not how the world works. Most of the player base is going to be solo players, that may not be the case on these forums but if you look at the data for games like this you will see that most players do in fact play alone more than they play in groups. Now when I say make it viable...This is not the same thing as making it easy, it just needs to be more accessible(as in possible withing say 1 or 2 hundred hours and not ridiculously boring and repetitive). How do they make it more viable? wel i have a few ideas but would love to hear some of your ideas first. and if anyone disagrees with what I have to say please do leave a comment as I am always open to new ideas and new points of view. But I really have tried to view this from as neutral a standpoint as is possible. I know it may sound like im more in favor of the PvE guys but in reality that is only because that is currently the most lacking part of this game as of right now. Im with both sides, this is a game that has a lot of potential and there is no reasons both sides cant be made happy...spread love not hate, none of that hateful stuff in the replies please, just constructive comments.

I apologize but I read about the first few lines and I'm going to stop..

When you watched game of thrones (SPOILER ALERT) and js died. Even though you didn't like what happened you accepted it.. you didn't contact the writer and tell them that he was wrong and they should change it.. you take it for what it is.. you trust that the product being delivered to you is how they want it.. if you don't like it you move on to something that better suits you.

The game is as advertised. Many people spent time, read reviews, watched videos and went over articles before buying the product. They knew what they were buying.

This is the age of entitlement. Just because you don't like something being served to you doesn't give you the right to complain about it ESPECIALLY when the product is as intended.

The only tension left in the DZ is wondering when you're going to get one-shot through a wall by a hacker.

Maybe you should've kept reading and then found out in the second paragraph they talk about how PvE Solo DZ isn't going to happen, that it shouldnt and that they need to make the PvE map viable again.

It really helps if you read the whole thing before going off on your own rant.

Anyway....the easiest solution to this whole DZ business is this:

    - Make every enemy in the PvE Map 30+ Veteran/Elite
    - Make the PvE XP usefull again by continuing to level up, and when you do you get a package that can have any number of Skins/Guns/Armour/Mats etc. in it.
    - Respawning Named Elites at all the Bounty Mission Zones, and some just randomly wandering the streets.
    - Separate Weekly PvE and DZ goals.

Just make that massive PvE map useful again and people who don't want to go to the Dark Zone will stay out of there, and stop annoying the people who do want to be in there.

Keep the DZ the way the Devs intended it....Just give everyone more options and stop forcing people into it, because playing the same 4 Challenging Missions over and over is just boring as f@!k.

You really think that the complaints on here are about a system that's working as intended? As breathtakingly incompetent as Ubisoft/Massive appear to be when it comes to online play, I don't think they actually intended for the game to be so full of cheaters and griefers that it made others quit playing the game.

    Accept it? NEVER.
I was more gutted about that, than anything that's happened in the dz

    Good Points

I think you make some great points and I do believe that the Dark Zone should not be radically changed.. I think Ubusoft just needs to get the hacks like aimbots, wall shooters, unlimited ammo etc booted and thenset up better brackets/fences to prevent the level 50 from hunting the level 8 like a baby seal hunt. i do think the real opportunity is to spawn bosses and or supply crates with large groups of Rikers or Cleaners into the Storyline section of the map after level 30. It seems like this type of a solution would require minimal coding and if the armies of bad guys are big enough would make cooperative play the only viable solution. Yes it would be like the incursion with bullet sponges but with a degree of randomizing of locations would keep the game fresh. I hope that in the future releases they can come up with some sort of team death matches such as Call of Duty, Battlefront and Destiny all have which are quite enjoyable.
