14 day bans seem very reasonable

I've seen some posts on here criticizing handing out 14 day bans. People have been suggesting for account wipes, roll backs, 1st time offense perm bans etc.

Honestly, I think that a 14 day ban is totally reasonable, and I don't see it as a simple "slap on the wrist."

I've never been a hacker so I don't necessarily share in that mentality, but if I was ban from a game for 14 days, I think I would either never return to the game, or if I did return after the 14 days I wouldn't just jump right back into hacking, especially facing a 2nd time offense permanent ban.

It's better than a 24 hour or 3 day ban, and I think it sends the right message, to people who are, or would consider hacking, and personally I'm glad bans are being issues and that cheating is being taken seriously.

Even if hackers do come back after 14 days it's like in the movie The Dark Knight, "Think of all you could do with 14 days of hacking free Dark Zone."

    Hackers aren't casual players.

They are people who are dedicated to a particular game. 2 weeks hurts.

The big thing for Ubi now is making sure those that have been hit with a 2 week ban, are monitored at the end of that 2 week period.

If they act up again, that permaban hammer needs to fall down very swiftly.

2-week initial bans are useless if the follow up permaban doesn't hit, for, say a month or two .

As long as it includes a character wipe. Other wise cheaters will get all uber gear before getting their timeout and just return with all their ill gotten gains to own you anyway.

I watch the entire stream and there is nothing indicating anyone was actually banned from the game.

I reiterate no one was banned.

Were you sitting on his lap while he was in the admin panel?

He is a paid Massive employee, he isn't going to go around and make claims that aren't true, he and they knew it would be all over here.

You can reiterate all you want, you are a random pleb, don't act like you know better than anyone else...

It's true, that could happen. But consider that in the next 2 week we should be getting another incursion and will have 14 days of more opportunities to gear up and get on their gear levels. It seems like they're being set back enough that we can catch up.

a 3 day ban, account strike, and a character wipe would be more severe

seriously just a 14 day ban means crap if that account was able to amass max credits, dz rank, and gear from hacking. I would just take my 14 days off and work on my tan and golf game then I would come back and tea bag everyone after wrecking their face with all my ill-gotten crap on my account all while laughing my *** off and saying TY Massive for giving me this wonderful gear and break so i could work on my stroke!

....or maybe i'd just go play some D3

Their accounts should be terminated! No matter how long the ban, they will do it again. Wipe a char? They will power-level a new one!
    No ****ing negociations with terrorists.
