We should have an admin in every DZ server doing that untill a real cheat protection came out on that game, so tired of recording cheaters ... upload ... write the ticket ... omg spending more time doing that than actually playing the game.Originally Posted by Rakunvar Go to original post
Don't care. At least they're gone for the next 14 days.Originally Posted by orthow Go to original post
The last few days it seems we've crossed some elbow in an exponentially growing proportion of script kiddies running rampant through the DZ. Yesterday I ran with some friends in the DZ and each time we ran into hackers buzz-sawing us instantly through cars, buildings, teleporting instantly to us to loot our gear, etc. we would force an instance transfer to try a new server. Each time, without fail, inside of 30 minutes we got drilled by hackers again. This went on for 6 or 7 different instances, till finally one of us pronounced that he was done for the day, and we split up. Hackers used to be an occasional annoyance, something that would happen, piss us off, then we'd leave and go to a new instance and find some peace to do our thing for a while. The last two or three days it's been a nearly constant thing, with almost no instance safe from them for longer than 30 minutes or so.
I love this game, seriously, it's got some great things about it along with some boneheaded things, but I've enjoyed the hell out of it, warts and all. But the rampant, apparently unchecked ability for people to hack the game and completely dominate other players in the only zone in game that really matters after lvl 30, isn't a wart. It's stage 4 melanoma, and as Christopher Hitchens once said, there's no stage 5.
ya 14 day ban is a slap on the wrist. most of these gamers will just move onto another game or activity until that point. few will never come back. if there was a more severe penalty i think it would stop/curb cheating quicker.
im not sure what a more fitting ban would be. maybe a month? 3 weeks?
in order to more effectively discourage there has to be a penalty that affects the character. such as a loss in DZ xp or funds, loss in credits, something of this sort.
for instance; if they are caught cheating in the DZ they should lose 5 levels worth of xp. maybe 300k DZ funds at least.
if they are caught glitching incursion repeatedly they could be removed of all credits and PC.
this would be on top of the 14 day ban. i think it would do more to actually discourage cheating instead of just delaying it
