Damn, the dz is gettin grimey

I've been working on a new character the last few days and by going back through the game from start I see again why I really came to like it. The world outside the dz is beautifully done and has a lot of great character. As mentioned elsewhere it would be nice to open that up to PvE content similar to dz but without PvP so people have options in the future. But back to my topic. Since I've got a new character I decided to head into the darkzone and try to get a few purple items before he passes level 14. Loh and behold I get dropped by a level 14 character at dz rank 99 while I'm fighting some AI. So I go back with explosive rounds and ready to try to handle him. We manage to get him down and then his 3 friends show up and it's hopeless. They stand outside to door killing anyone who comes out. This is so insane to me. Most people at that level are just learning the game and have 0 chance to defend themselves against a group with likely all purple gear, rolled properly and using shock turrets. It just begs to make people hate this game and not want to play. Eventually, all that will be left is people like that and then they'll get bored and leave. Game ruined. It appears a lot of people don't consider their actions and what type of affect it may have on others. Getting killed is a possibility in the dz sure. But to me that kind of behavior borderlines on abuse. Reminds me of kids poking animals with sticks and stuff.. crazy.

So after I hit 15 I went back in hoping the next bracket would be better and within minutes began having the same problem there. I don't know if its just this type of game that's attracting this type of people or if it's only in this game that they can get away with it? What's happening to the human race? lol.

Each DZ grouping, based on PvE levels, has high geared rogues just working at ruining other folks fun. Grouping that I play in, PvE 10-14, 15-19, 20-24 in the Dark Zone, you will find nothing but rogues at PvE levels 14, 19 and 24 with the best gear, weapons, talents, etc. These rogues continually hunt the extractions zones in DZ1 and DZ2 making it impossible for other players trying to gear up. Four rogues of PvE 19s against most other 4 players groups in this same grouping is a slaughter, let alone a solo player. dealing with them My solo PvE 24 player can handle DZ3 or DZ4 and I rarely see rogues there. If they see me and I show I can handle them, they run away.

You just hit PvE 15, so you will be dealing with mainly PvE 19 rogues with high DZ ranks. Don't bother fighting them, just leave the instance. This is what developer wants for its game and the Dark Zone. Been this way since the first adjustments were made to the DZ after the game came out. Now a days I find little help in the DZ versus the first days when I could finds lots of help. So DZ leveling is very slow. DZ is either quiet so you can solo or filled with rogues so I leave. Not much in between.

I was on today and every group I joined went rogue. I started my own group those who joined went rogue and non of it by accident. So I stopped joining groups and went camping and shooting the same NPC's over and over to get my XP and DZ lvl up to 51 now. I have two places I can camp and the NPC's can't get at me so that's what I'll do for now. If I see rogues marked on the map in my area I just sit tight and let them pass.

The DZ is a joke when you're solo. I don't mind it as a group cause generally you can hunt in peace as a lot of players don't have the balls to actually take on groups of 4, even when they have 4. They like to have the advantage. I honestly haven't spent very much time in the DZ but I went in there today solo. Called in an extraction and a group of 3 shows up. They wave at me, I wave back. They hook onto my extraction line and we all extract together. Then as I'm about to leave, they jump me. I don't see what the reasoning was as they just extracted with me so I had no loot they could take so I guess they just wanted to grief. Must have been fun and challenging for them.

Then 10 minutes later, I decided to hunt down some rogues cause I don't generally bother with them too much but I was bored with no loot so I figured, why not? Sure enough, they glitched into the walls of a building and all you can see is there rogue timers and then all of a sudden, I'm dead. Last time I'll ever go in solo to try and extract anything. I'll just use recon pulse and avoid everybody and just farm DZ rank and money off bots if I'm solo.

I was taught to believe that games are supposed to be both fun AND educational. The only educational value of this game is teaching us that when sh*t hits the fan, everybody turns into a f*king di*k. Maybe it's a good lesson (one though that you can learn just by living your everyday life, for free), but it is taught to us the hard way and it's not fun any more.

Also...sociology may disagree in reality. When things go bad, strength lays in numbers, so people have the tendency to group together. Of course, they become gangs, and then firepower starts to make the difference. But one or small groups of individuals cannot survive for long if they turn against everybody, no matter how heavily they are armed and equipped. They wouldn't be so eager to take on strangers, 'cause in reality you only die once.

I love the concept of the game and I really find it beautiful (the idea, the mechanics, the atmosphere - especially in the DZ, the character design...almost everything). However, the rogue aspect is poorly balanced. Too rewarding and too little penalty. It's something like "rogue fest" nowadays and the DZ has actually become a PVP area with PVE elements. And if you want to progress in a reasonable amount of time in the game (after end game), you HAVE TO go there (I do it for pleasure, but many players are not).

Most of the top bracket level rogues are actually alts of players, who practically have nothing to lose, while you, if you go there to level up your main, are constantly set back by losing DZ cash and XP, so ultimately: your time.

Indeed there was lot of exploiting in the game, which ruined the balance. This imposes an intervention, as in conceiving and implementing game changes in the game, even though they were not in the initial development plan. But everything takes time.

If the game didn't have so many easily available exploits and glitches that can allow people to cheat I'd really consider setting up a playstation community called 'The Exterminators", call us when your dz has a problem. Haha. So if there are some characters abusing others post on there and as many people as we could get on that server tracks said rogue's until they leave. I imagine they wouldn't enjoy it being turned back on them and that's a realistic approach to what would happen in reality.

There has to be something that can be done to curtail such rampant abuse and rebalance it to where people go rogue when there's a good enough reason to but otherwise let it slide.. Also they'd be less likely to consider continuously camping the spawns and continuously killing the same people that don't stand a chance..

The human race in general is pretty atrocious.
Give them freedom to as they please with anonymity and it'd going to be a **** show.
There's nothing wrong with that. It's in our nature.

it usually stems from having tiny man parts.

Being a total a55 inside a game is probably their only release from such frustrations.
