So i understand all the hacks is possible because the server accept a lot of information from clientside, like rate of fire. How about making the server only accept rate of fire within a certain range?
Its the worst hack that gets people instantly killed. Some players i bet are hacking carefully, only increasing rate of fire a bit more than normal so that people dont suspect them of hacking. That wouldnt be possible if there was a hard cap on rate of fire.
But who knows, maybe its an innate flaw of the game that cant be fixed easily because Ubisoft didnt wanna use money on real server simulation.
because the files for rate of fire are held on the players computer not on the server where they should be held. to fix this all files pertaining to rate of fire, walk speed, player position and the list goes on, will need to be re written and put onto the server. this will not happen because it requires a complete overhaul of the coding already written and then extra money to have it stored on the server. what you see is what you get.

But seriously smart ideas are not allowed here, Heil Massive!
You could also cap weapon range on a weapon class, let's say, like SMGs. This would stop people being able to use them like ARs.Originally Posted by Bo.Juka Go to original post
Sounds simple, very hard to implement. Ubi has done the multi player side of things on the cheap by placing most of the actual 'computing' on the client side. To switch that computing to the server side for all users would not only require a huge code change, but they would have to beef up their server hardware and bandwidth DRASTICALLY. This is NOT going to happen. Lets face the truth here, we are stuck with the mess we have. Either enjoy it for the mess it is or move on.
Sorry Synergy, I know it sounds simple, and it would be if Ubi had placed that kind of code on the server side. However since it is on the client side, on your computer, they can change the client code all the want, hackers will just write over it like they did to start with. There is NO easy fix for the PC hacks. I just do not see it happening.Originally Posted by Synergy2010 Go to original post
