Strategy - How to Defeat the Incursion

I posted this on another thread...but figured I would make its own thread so that people who are struggling have a solid strategy to follow.

You guys are having difficulty, but challenge mode is very easy if you do it right. I have run countless PUG groups and cleared it.

Let me lay out probably the most simple of strategies.

You will need 3 DPS and 1 Support. Here are what talents they should be running.
Support - Ranged Pulse, First Aid Overheal
DPS 1 - Sticky Bomb, First Aid Overheal
DPS 2 - Sticky Bomb, First Aid Overheal
DPS 3 - Sticky Bomb, Immunizer Support Station

DPS 3 needs to be your best DPS that is good at not getting hit. Now let me go over the roles

    Support
Now Supports job is not even bother shooting. They are solely there to support the DPS. They will run the talents Overheal, Triage, Combat Medic, Critical Save/Battle Buddy...the last 2 are your choice.

The will stand to the side and keep pulse up, while spot healing with overheal....if you do not see anyone low just try to get an overheal on your DPS to make them less squishy. This will also help regenerate your pulse faster thanks to triage.

Their other job is make sure they have a pulse up for EVERY NEW WAVE. This is incredibly important. If they need to not pulse the last few NPC of a wave in order to make sure it is up for the next then don't pulse. Their job is to call out what is coming and where it is. The last part of their job is they are the designated reviver. Anytime someone goes down they Revive them. The only time DPS should revive is if the support go down...this keeps the DPS dpsing.

    So Supports Job
    1) Spot Heal
    2) Keep pulse up and make sure its up for every new wave
    3) Revive everyone that drops
    4) Call out what is coming and where it is

Now lets move onto the DPS

    DPS

    Best DPS talents are
    Overheal - For obvious reasons

On the Move - You are almost never going to be behind cover...especially on shotgun phases you are killing a shotgun while moving and boom you have 30% damage reduction against the next shotgunner for 10 seconds.

One is None - Even though this is bugged a bit...it still helps with AMMO IMMENSELY. Definitely use it...if it bugs out just flip to your next gun and then back.

Critical Save/Combat Medic - Critical Save is great if you just took a big hit to save you in shotgun phases, combat medic helps everyone heal each other very quick if you are low.

For the most part your job is to simply dps. The trick to this is DO NOT USE COVER. Now this sounds crazy, but cover limits your mobility. The best way to dps is to use the PEAK method. This means that you peaking out around a corner. Whichever side you are peaking out make sure your weapon is on that side. You slowly peak out and shoot...if you get hit take one step in the other direction and you are safe. This will incredibly help your mobility and not get stuck in cover.

The next job is Sticky Bomb. These can make or break an instance. The main use of these is against drones...call out who is sticky bombing first...hit directly on the drone and it will disable all the drones around it. Just roll through your sticky bombs to get them down. The other place this is great for is shotgunners. Place right at the top of the stairs or in the middle...right when they come around a corner or drop down boom stunned.

Now for the Immunizer guy. Super important this goes down when drones come in. This will stop you from getting shocked by the blue drones. This is really the only time you need to put this down is during drones.

    So DPS job is
    1) DPS of course
    2) Sticky Bomb Drones and Shotgunners
    3) Immunizer drops station during drone phases

Now that we got the roles out of the way lets move onto strategy. The strategy is simple.

    STRATEGY
First 4 waves you do in the room with the big window. The support stays by the doorway unless he needs to rez...DPS use peak method and just peak around the sides of the window. Once the 4th wave is basically down you will likely have a 1-3 shotgunners right below you. Support blows survivor link and everyone drops down, kills them and runs to the middle under the bridge type thing. The only person that does not run to the bridge will be the bomb carrier.

Now the bomb carrier is very simple...they just run the bomb up the left side...do a 3 rolls right before the door to avoid the turret...the get to the turret counsel, pop overheal, turn off the turret and then run and place the bomb. After placing it you run back turn the turret off again and then run back to your friends. You shouldn't die, but if you do it is not a big deal as you will be rezzed at the end of the barrage.

Right after this barrage is going to be 3-4 snipers so DPS needs to immediately start looking for them when the bomb explodes. Looking at the APC there will be 2-3 on the right side and 1 on the left on the crosswalk.

Next wave is wave 5...this is shotgunners so pulse needs to go out...right before the shotgunners get there ONE person needs to pop survivor link and you clear the shotgunners fast. After just clear the drones and snipers and then the rest of the NPC...again all of this is still in the middle under the bridge.

    Wave 6-7 is normal.

Wave 8 is shotgunners...same thing only ONE person pops survivor link and clear them. Then once you clear the rest of the NPC the bomb runner needs to grab the bomb and run it up....now the bomb on wave 8 is on the right side if looking at the APC...so unless the person is really good another person ONLY for this round should run up the left side while the bomb runner does the right. Coordinate the turret turn off...he runs places the bomb and you both return to the middle together down the left side.

Wave 9 is shotgunners again so ONE more survivor link. Clear them.

Wave 10-13 are normal...I suggest trying to take out Rogue Agents first because their turrets are particularly annoying.

Wave 14 is the most difficult wave. You want 2 survivor links up for this which you should have. Immunizer station needs to go down, as soon as shotgunners are about to get to you first survivor link goes down...As SOON as that is down use the next....a lot of NPC come down to you...by the time the second one is down you should be fine. Clear the rest of the wave and you are in the last bit of the instance.

Wave 15 is normal...your sole job is to try to kill the person with the bomb. Now if your bomb runner is really good as soon as it drops someone can pop a survivor link for him and he can run and do the same thing like normal and place it....if not try to clear like half of the NPC before he goes. If you do not have a survivor link up just wait for one to be up before he goes.

After the bomb is placed you just sit in the middle and stay alive and you are 15 seconds from everything exploding and you are victorious.

Now the only change that some people use for this strat is one of the DPS runs shock turret...which he places in the middle when shotgunners come...that way if they drop to mid they get shocked. I personally don't like it...some swear by it.

Anyways there you go that is the entire instance and frankly it is incredibly easy.

Edit: One thing I will add is that the organization of the Survivor links is another KEY to success. If you waste more than 1 survivor link during a shotgun phase unless it is wave 14 you will likely not have one up for another phase and die. So it is incredibly important that it is used at the very last second before the shotgunners come in and that NOBODY overlaps. This just takes simply someone calling out who is using it. Like "Darkcore you are next survivor link". Make sure you try to use your supports survivor link if it is up because his will regenerate faster than everyone elses.

Let me know how it works out for you. I have cleared it in the top right and the top left...but shotgunners in both are a LOT more dangerous. On the right if shotgunners come in you could end up getting killed by a sniper if you need to back up behind cover. On the left if you do not kill the snipers immediately with amazing DPS you are likely dead. The other problem is with both left and right side you need someone baiting the big bomb. This takes a lot of effort and a skilled group that wont make mistakes....if that person dies someone needs to bait the bomb further up in order to rez them.

That is just been my experience. I have cleared it using all three areas and middle is by far the most simple.

It isn't that difficult...once you get in you will figure it all out pretty quickly.

One of the only time I actually tried to do it(with pugs) we ended up wipping on wave 6. People were not using the right skills and we had 0 communication. I just wish my friends would still be playing the game. Now i'm virtually all alone and have no hope of clearing challenging mode

Best thing you can have in the incursion is a team which communicates. Thats the key.

There are different strategies, like stay in the start room for the first waves, go direct to pit,... I had my easiest runs when we were up the right side at the generators. I had tactitians equipt and was full stacked, used pulse for 40% rate and 100% dmg and the smart cover buff for extra 60% reduction. Not even the pumpgunners can kill you then when you have constant heal and 60% dmg reduction 24/7.
After wave 4 you can either stay up there ( have to be carefull with the snipers) or go to the pit and complete the rest of the mission there. When in the pit i changed the smart cover to the immunity supply station.
Best to have is every player has a heal spell and, exept the support, a CC ability like stun turret, flash sticky or smoke mine
