I bought Season pass and their apperal items today because i want to support this game, not as it is but as what i want it to be in the future.
In all honesty i love this game and i know that you do to, thats why some of you are so "angry" and vocal, is this game what i expected? yes, but i can see why some people set their expectations to high..
You drew your own ideas and conclusions from the hype, see it as reading a book.. you put your own ideas and shapes into your head based of the book and when the "movie" doesnt match your ideas and shapes from the book, instantly the movie sucks, but for someone who hasnt read the book?
*Is the game flawless? nope
*Is it a success? Id dare to say so with 6m copies sold the first 5 days? And this is prob not something that was expected from the team.
All cred to them even tho they underestimated their players and trusted their players, thats on them.
Ive been playing games for 20 years now and people claiming this to be the worst launch ever, worst game ever and just insert [Random complaint here].
I was there when CCP patched away boot.ini from my computer, i was there when we had to queue for 12h or more just to enter the darkfall server, i was there when SOE ruined SWG so yeah to me this aint to bad.
I mean ive almost punched 200h into this game and thats a load of content for 30-40 bucks or whatever i paid and now together with the season pass id still say its a bucket load of content ive had.
Would i spend my money on this again? Yupp
And to the people that want better loot faster, that want the best gear of the bat [you get the idea] in short all instant gratification people.. you should try everquest or any other older MMORPG / RPG.
Man i spent months and months on getting my Profession grind in SWG just to access another grind which was the Jedi..
Just makes me laugh.
Love the game, keep it up [Abit more communication from the devs wouldnt hurt even if its just a "Hey guys, we are aware of it and working on it"]
Let the downvoting begin, god forbid something positive is posted here. Sorry for the formatting
cassan0va,
I echo your statements.
Clearly we have played the same type of games.
EQ had a grind and when you would de-level for dying and had to run naked to get your gear. That was hard.
UO - when PVP took all your stuff and you were left naked.
SWG used to be fun until that combat update that crapped the game out.
The new gaming generation won't understand you and will always have an answer to everything you post.
I agree that maybe Massive should communicate a little better but I can understand them holding back because of the backlash that they get when ever they mention anything.
You can see how the community erupts with any info from massive or any info that a player figures out about a mechanic that is not working correctly by looking at the threads here and on REDDIT.
I love the game. I love the DZ.
I hate the gear progression system currently in place, it is the worst mishmash of RNG I have ever seen I have no problem with a grind, but when a drop has the weapon I want and the talents I want, but it's random dmg roll was at the bottom and so is useless to me, that is just frustrating and isn't fun.
They need to separate the DZ into PvE and PvP. It is the absolute best end game I have seen in a while. Awesome atmosphere and ambiance. The NPCs are tough as nails and if you make a mistake, your toast. It beats the heck out of running the same CMs every day. But PvP hasn't ever been my thing. They need to separate the two groups from each other instead of forcing us into it. The fact that I'm on PC is just ... crap.
cassan0va stay supportive if you love the game, I seriously hope they reward your faith with a personal statue outside the base of operations and a little plaque reading 'he stuck by us during our darkest times'.
I'll gladly return when the problems are ironed out and dlc's on sale and clean your plaque daily.
Burnnnnn himmm!!!!!!!!
Lol Jk good post, I know I got my money's worth with this game. It's only 80 bucks and I spend double that on a night at the bar. While I understand why people are mad, the campaign itself on the way up to Lvl 30 is pretty much worth it for me. Way too many toxic posts all about the same thing, you have to go in 5 pages to get 10 different topics. They know the issues, it takes time to fix them. Constructive posts without constant bashing on each other would make these forums immensly more enjoyable.
