    So about these bans...

I see lots of threads about bans and say get rid of the cheaters.

Yet if you look at the Season Pass and use a little grey matter: I doubt Ubi will ban potential Season Pass customers. Temp bans only treat the sympton and not the disease. If Ubi are investigating cheaters and notice that said cheaters don't have the SP...Unlikely they will do anything because it would be a financial loss. Or potential loss.

Conspiracy theory? Or real? It's hard not to take a cynical stance given the state of play.

Why does it matter, they already have the money and clearly not offering refunds.

If they don't handle the cheaters, they will loose much more customers, then those kids can be.

They have some of the money for Season Passes.

I'm talking about the players that have yet to buy one and how banning them may lose money.

OK, have them buy SP and then ban them. It's OK with me But yeah, too much x-files in this one.

There are different types of bans though.

Banning users who exploit stuff like the extended cover to get through a door, etc., should be temporary as a way of saying "this is not acceptable".

Hackers who use 3rd party software, or other tricks to manipulate the game code to their advantage should be perm banned without question. What they are doing has a far greater impact on the game and the other users.

Just because they paid for the game doesn't mean they get free range to do what they want.

You can go buy a car, but you still have to have insurance and register the car. If you do not, then you will be punished if the car is on the road and you are caught.

Paying for the car doesn't suddenly give you the right to violate all of the rules of the road.

Or look at it this way. If they don't eliminate the cheating, people are not going to buy the season pass. I'm one of those people who actually doesn't preorder stuff. i bought The Division the first day it came out but didn't preorder it. Why would I preorder it when there is an unlimited amount of copies being that its a digital download??? Never understood why people preorder in this day in age. Whether you preorder it or buy it first day of release, you can get it day one so why give your money upfront and wait???

I have yet to buy the season pass because I don't pay for anything in life for that matter, up front and wait to be able to use it. It just doesn't make sense. So unless the cheating gets fixed, ill keep my money and pass on the season pass. I'm sure there are many others out there like myself in the same boat. The worst part is, you would think by now people would learn to not pay for a product before its actually available but I guess not.

Ownership of a Season Pass or not absolutely does not affect the ban type or whether a ban is issued at all.
Everyone caught cheating, whether you have a season pass, a collector's edition, etc...will be treated equally.

A solid, ballsy answer. I salute you, as this is a fair resolution. Two thumbs up! If they are going to cheat, they should have understood that they risked a ban, no matter their investment.
