Ubi soft - must implement loot 2.0 great article!

    http://www.forbes.com/sites/insertco.../#7065b4103586

“Loot 2.0” focus on three main things:

Legendary items needed to feel Legendary
Players needed to get them more often
Players needed better ways to get them

Gearscore is the Most Pressing Problem

Right now, one of the fundamental problems with gear is that Gearscore is being used as a metric to judge what is good or not, but the way you get Gearscore items and what kind of stats they actually have is a pretty serious issue.

Right now, at level 30, there are so many tiers of gear, I’m starting to lose track. You can get items that are 163, 182, 204, 214 and 240 as a mix of HE and set gear. That’s five tiers of gear (not including two tiers of purples below those) once you hit level 30.

This produces many complications that result in the gear system being a mess. The first is which enemies drop what level of gear. Originally, it was thought that only the highest level enemies would drop the highest tiers of gear, but that isn’t true. Consistently, 163 items drop more than anything else from all bosses, and when people are trying to get themselves over 200 Gearscore, that’s a problem.

    Named Weapons Should Be Special

I know that in The Division, it’s going to be tough to make every HE item has some crazy unique affix as that would break the game pretty quickly, but in terms of creating “better” look, they should start with Named Weapons, and allow them to use skills in unique ways that are potentially game changing. An SMG that grants your turret the ability to have all three skills. A shotgun you can wield while holding the Ballistic Shield. An assault rifle that poisons targets affected by your pulse with radiation. I’m just spitballing here, but the current state of the game is that there is exactly one build-changing weapon out there, the Caduceus, and there need to be more like it.

    Repopulate the Light Zone

This one is a no-brainer, and a direct parallel to Diablo 3’s Adventure Mode. Once you beat The Division, 70% of the beautiful map immediately becomes useless. Populate it with high-level enemies the way we see in the Dark Zone, and allow players to farm the hell out of it, free from Rogues. Since there’s no risk, drop rates should be lower than in the DZ, but it should be a way that players can free roam and form outside of structured missions or the increasingly irritating DZ.

More Challenge Missions, Better Difficulty Balance

The Incursion is Not a Raid So Don’t Treat it Like One

I love this game, fix the balance issues.

I don't see "Ubisoft" next to your name. People are allowed to post whatever they want.

Great post, that tank perk allowing shotguns with the ballistic shield sounds awesome! Might actually make a shotgun viable too because as it stands they sure as hell aren't.

He makes some pretty good points. I disagree with his idea for separate pvp. I definitely want the world map populated with difficult enemies post level 30. And if course loot should be completely redone. Allowing the best gear to drop anywhere from anything is a great idea. Also agree with limiting crafting. Phoenix credits should be used to tell attributes on gear but all slots should be able to be rerolled.

Like I said. I love the game and want it to succeed but the end game for me is almost done. I am level 30 level 70 in the dark zone and all i get is level 163 gear. The game should scale with me and become more challenging - I feel like i'm just knocking over cans at this point. I do 280 DPS with my AUG and if I switch to Midas I can just stand in the open and kill enemies. I like the idea of once you clear out and area in the regular game, the enemies become harder and harder.
