Then is a refund really too much to ask for PC consumers ?
i'm not trying to start a huge war here -- but if I bought a game expecting to get the most out of the darkzone and instead am just battling cheaters (the teleport, and mow you down with 40000000x RPM while taking no damage type), usually leaving me with a sour taste in my mouth, then is a full refund REALLY too much to ask ?
if you can solve the cheating problem then please, ignore this post;
but if you're going to dance around the subject for months to come leaving us a false hope, then to me that just isn't right.
don't try and justify this as my own fault for purchasing the game and just to deal with it, if you screw up this majorly then you are responsible for fixing it. Battlefield 4 is a perfect example of this and so is Diablo 3, BF4 started off completely unplayable for like 3 months but because they worked hard to recover their game it turned out great.
also if you're going to come in here trying to say " should have bought console"
no.. i should not have bought a console, I will never buy another console, I do not enjoy console gaming.
I've had plenty of great. cheat-free experiences in several PC titles and this should be no different.
It sucks, I wouldn't want to have to deal with what some of you PC people are dealing with (others seem to have no issues) BUT ... this is a new engine, they need to wait and watch and see what hacks are being used and how they are being used (how they're adjusting the game code etc) so that they can make the proper kinds of anti-cheats for it. At least that's what you can hope they are doing....
It's not because of the new engine, it's because Ubisoft/Massive implemented the 'trusted server client model' that gives hackers all the opportunity to change almost whatever they want. It's an almost extinct model to use in these kind of games but Ubi and Mas decided to give it another go despite of this system to be proven it is faulty has hell.
So i also do think this game is allegable for a refund for PC-versions if the truth is that this server sided thing can not be 'repaired' and thus the game being and staying broken forever.
I think since a few days it becomes almost impossible to play without seeing cheaters... I just tried 6 phases and always found an hacker after like 30 minutes (i always go manhunt once to see if there is any hacker).
And now above the guys with infinite ammo+no recoil are other guys coming which can shoot threw any wall and any vehicle on the map... It's realy super ridiculous and annoying.
Having the best gear is the goal of this game to master the dark zone. If the dark zone is broken the whole purpose of the game is broken. Many cheaters tell me afterward that they are cheating because i'm cheating and feel sorry when I explain i'm just well geared. I report them anyway (shadowplay is always on. do a smile.)
Soon i'll be cheating to kill the guys who are cheating because they think i'm cheating and this game will be over.
Please at least do a visible or invisible worldwide players' rank, and try to balance the players in a phase according to their ranks. It'll put the hacker together and the noobs too since you being proved to be unable to fight against cheats, even the most well known. (which is really a shame.)
The reason the game is so easy to hack on PC is because it's almost a 1:1 console port... Including not needing any server verification because PSN, XBL are closed systems. Thus, they don't have hackers for precisely this reason.
The devs should have realized and invested the time, money and manpower to add in an anti-cheat support before launch, but they didn't and he we are, now, with what is essentially a broken game![]()
