Front Page: Info on Exploits in upcoming days

    http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php...2#post11646532

With Update 1.1 now behind us, and Update 1.2 in the works, we also want to briefly mention our ongoing work related to bug exploits.
We are currently adjusting our processes and policies in order to better track and deter exploiters, in line with industry standards and out of fairness and respect for the larger The Division community.
Expect more details on this in the next days.

    Could mean 3 things:

    - Everyone who exploited bugs can expect a punishment
    - Exploits will be punishable after date X.
    - They will tell exploits are punishable after date X, but in reality nothing happens

As a 100% legit player I sincerly hope Option 1. Punish the exploiters (and I know there are a LOT) or simply award the ones that didnt (couple of 240 gear would do).

At this point, knowing that their supposed punishment is a 3 day temp suspension...I doubt there's any risk. So far the exploiters are welcoming a 3 day break from the game and looking forward to coming back to kick *** even after losing 3 days of progression.

It means that they are to make a change to policy and gamer details of gear obtained/progress, that will take effect from when the new policies are released, it doesn't mean that they will punish retrospectively. You can not change policy and punish retrospectively, its a move in the right direction and would make it crystal clear to gamers on what ubi/massive stance is on future issues.

Judging from this sentence, their current policy or system can't detect exploiters that well, so option 1 seems not so valid.
I'm guessing they are working on a new policy/system that can detect exploiters much faster in the process and punish them accordingly.

Hopefully put all of them cheesers into server together, good riddence.

I'll believe this when I see actual stuff happening. If they can't go after the hackers plaguing the PC, how are they supposed to punish everyone whos exploited this game? How are players not supposed to exploit when there are new glitches being discovered nearly every day in this game? And as for update 1.2, I hope everything goes well with that. 1.1 has been nothing less than a PR disaster for the Division, for Massive, and for Ubisoft.

Sorry for the strong language, but Massive and Ubisoft are really in an uphill battle to regain the trust of this community. Action at this point will speak much louder than words.

Just wondering how I'm suppose to be a 220GS without glitching tho... Just give everyone the opportunity to farm very good 240 gear easily till update 1.2 and make sure the game is glitch free from there.

"We are currently adjusting our processes "

That actually mean that their current soft does not allow them to trace hackers themselves and they simply will not start banning people based on sent videos without actual "case" behind each ban.
If they manage to get their system to level where they will have numeric evidence of person cheating or hacking they will start banning.

For example in WOW they have actual database which trace any abnormal behaviour which later investigated by GM's. Each GM has an obligation to file data beside each ban.

quick message for you. Do you realise they didn't really fix any glitch ? you still can pass trough almost every wall with the mobile cover. They just make then useless when they discover people take advantage of it like for the APC now can be damage only by the bomb. But you still can glitch as you want.

    ok the topic :

I really hope they will do something because we already hear stuff like that and still nothing was done. If they actually do something it will be great for the game. But honestly right now even the hope is hard to find when you see the action in the past ( i mean since the release compare to what was say in the beta) that don't play in the favor of hope and thrust.

    The real question is
Are they putting the effort into eradicating the exploits
or are they putting more effort into punishing people who exploit?

While I am not opposed to the latter, it would be far better to focus on the first.
The current code for handling abilities and talents is severely lacking in quality.

    You made me laugh

Ban Exploiters and lose the Majority of the Current Player base due to it. Great Idea, you just want to have the Darkzone completely clear for you
