Yes, make blueprints/items upgradeable
No, don't make blueprints/items upgradeable
This idea is an alternative to raising the level cap and helping brand new players catch up to the latest gear score requirements. In addition more season players will be able to maintain current gear sets and weapons that are capable of completing the newest forms of DLC and expansion missions.
Concept.
Considering a new incursion is on its way and a few power level 32 blueprints available for purchase. Acquiring new blueprints for new power levels would be buying the same item twice at full price. Instead by making blueprints upgradeable without increasing the crafting materials needed, but at a flat rate of 100 phoenix credits it will help the community as a whole to keep their current gear set items and character builds without raising the requirements.
Pros
Gear set items are a must now and without the ability to upgrade them the chances of them becoming obsolete in the next update or expansions is high. Players are somewhat attached to their current gear set and would like to continue to use them in the long-run.
Cons
Most of the cons are associated with veteran player. As a new update or expansion comes out and higher powers levels are made available for upgrade. High level players will meet the latest DLC/expansion requirements on day one and possible complete the new missions in a few days. Thus, this could make the high level player feel there is no more challenge and wanting for even more content loaded DLC.
Being able to upgrade blueprints already acquired goes against the way the devs want players to obtain loot in this game...they want you to play their game more and deconstruct loot to craft more loot to try and get the roll you want most w/RNG in their favor, w/crafting in their favor, and rogue activity limiting a % of players from experiencing w/enjoyment another part of the game where loot is more easily obtainable for crafting.
Eventually every player will look and be armed the same.
certain SMG, certain DMR, certain gear set. Perfect rolls since day 1 only now upgradable to keep up w/the game's gear score requirements. Variety goes into the toilet and there is less motivation to do anything but farm the most beneficial currency, grief, and/or play another game.
I like the idea but not in the current state of the game or what it's become.
