    How many active players are there?

    I've been playing TF almost since the beginning, mostly focusing on maxing the bikes and getting Platinum on all the tracks (still 5/205 to go). It's not until recently I've been checking the LB at all. So, when I reached top 1000 (iOS) my friend said "What? You're top 1000 out of 5 million players?! That's AWESOME MAN!!" (Well, he said it in Swedish, but something similar). I was feeling quite proud of myself for about 2 seconds until I realized that the vast majority of these 5 million players are hardly playing at all, being a free2play game and all. Now I've been working my way to 265 and I'm wondering if anyone really knows have many active players there are. Then I guess it all depends on how you define "active players"... I was looking at Bonxy's page, seeing 16414 players (iOS+android) in the current "Ultimate season", maybe that's a hint.

    KTM Course has 1867 players total for both platforms, TT around ~3300, Challeng Packs 2 and 3 maybe around 6000. So you´re right, it all boils down to how strict is your definition of "active". Could be anywhere from 2000 - 20,000. I like to think i´m in the top 10% (rank 257).

    He might have updated his page, because now it says around 25K (ios+android). Gotta keep in mind though that not everyone plays the Bunker.

    According to tf.lforo, the individual track LBs on the KTM event stayed in the 30-40K range every week of the event for each platform. That may be a better idea.

    Sad fact is though...about 95% of all of those people are all really... well...not very good. And/or are very inconsistent... lets call them "casual" players. Not everyone is dedicated enough to fight their way through the F2P model and get everything maxed, or get all tracks.

    I think you can count on about 2000 fairly active/competent riders on each platform. Based on how things went with my previous alternate ID last year (I replayed the game), I also think you'll find nothing really slows down your IOS global LB advancement until you hit around rank 500. Simply getting all the tracks gives you enough points to reach there, and beat most folks on the global LB. Then its going to start to take more effort...however hard rank 500 was... getting into the top 250 is about twice as hard. Staying in the top 100 is at least another 2-3x jump, and will take significant effort/dedication unless you are truly skilled. It gets much harder from there. Personally, I stay in the top 100, and top 10 donkey by dedication more than skill. And if you ignore it for a few weeks.. you drop out of those ranks.

    Good luck; hope to see you there.

    Is there a point where inactive accounts get deleted at all, if they are free-to-play?

    I doubt it, it would go against the idea of LBs in the first place. Why do you ask? Personally i just think of it in terms of bytes, data storage is a nonissue. The fact that some tracks have millions of players is also indicative that nothing gets deleted.

    Lastly, 2 years is a short time in terms of online gaming. I´ve seen games go over 10, an nothing got deleted there either.

    Totally agree, just getting all the tracks got me top 800 and it was quite easy moving to top 300. It definitely takes more effort now, either vastly improving one track or minor improvement on a few just to move 1-2 positions.

    You mean top 100? I would consider that to be some kind of ultimate goal for me. My primary goals now are more achievable;
    * Top 1000 on every track, which I guess would put me somewhere in top 150-200
    * Platinum on every track, though Woodwork Conclave and Widowmaker makes my hair turn grey.
