Material conversion, material cost, scavenging, Blue prints - Ubi, what a fumble!

I have no idea, who had the glorious idea to control / suppress the "normal" progress in a game through materials, for sure not the smartest person in that meeting.

Seriously, who is hurting if a "material gatherer" can run 100+ runs for the perfect scope, magazine ??? You can't force those kind of min/maxer into PvPing, running the same instance (i.E. incursion) for a random drop that simply doesn't fit their perfectionism.

A lot of my friends (incl. myself) would run the "normal" material box opening routes, to roll for the perfect god roll BoO Weapon blueprint (currently MP5) - or crafting an unique vain jacket...etc.

But with the current conversion rate and cost of one roll ....all of these "carebears" are gone or about to be going. But these people are the core of most RPG games (yep, I've called it RPG).

Ubi, it would take a big pair of brass balls, to reverse that stupid, stupid, indeed stupid decision of the sickening material conversion and cost of blueprints, but if you want to keep your game alive, that's exactly what you would have to do.

Those carebears have no issue, being one level behind the current gear score, if they can craft their 100% perfect build. Then every week you throw them a new bone, aka, higher level blue print and they keep going...and going...and going.

But the current system is so broken.....

And scavenging having no impact on the material farming....great job Ubi, great job!

Well you know their actual description of this game and what they marketed as was (An Open world RPG) it even says it on their official site only part of Open world RPG is levelling from 0 to 30 the rest is certainly not an open world RPG.

As for your materials/crafting and the rest you mentioned. not sure I think the devs have this built in grind meter to see how many can last the distance

And yeah i'm halfway to stopping with this game the lack of RPG and P v E things to do in the big part of the map (light zone) is whats killing it for me.

One full stash from the dz means you can craft 1 set item which is ridiculous. That's what 2hrs game play unless your deliberately running around mindlessly trying to min max your gear. I hope ubi come out with a post at some point and say its because they were trying to use up glitchers materials and not because they are clueless.

IMO, the main reason they upped the crafting requirements was because people where just running the DZ or missions, grabbing a bunch of purples (before all the HE drops) and putting them in stash, giving them to a lower level player, sell them at the Boo, buy low level cheap mats for 89-120 credits and then put them in their stash and log back on with their lvl 30 and chop them up on the cheap. Thus people where getting crap tons of mats for really really cheap. Not what they intended, so now it isn't profitable, or profitable enough to do that. It's a balancing game with the economy, and that move actually balanced that part of it out.

This is only my second RPG MMO (first was GW2) and in that game it can take days, even weeks to be able to craft an ascended armor or weapon, not to mention that it can take months to craft a legendary.

Why should u be entitled to get perfect roles?, if everyone had the perfect build everyone would be running with the same gear!

So, instead of fixing this issue (i.E. reducing the selling value for lvl30 stuff if your character is low) they phucked it up for everyone. And even if you have 999 of each material, it wouldn't give you the best gear, since the BPs are not top tier (or you still need tons of division tech)....or even better - stock is sold out, so you can only buy one item.
Naw, I don't think this was the main reason.

not to mention that since 1.1 the rate that material crates drop HE items (including BoO crates) is MUCH lower than before. i used to run around the map collecting mats, and i would often get 2 or 3 HE materials from 2 or 3 boxes. Now i can go to several different sites and open up 8, 9, 10 boxes before i even fine ONE HE mat. that is ridiculous.

sure make the conversion rate higher, whatever. but start restricting how much is available in simple places like material boxes? of course this wasn't ever in patch notes.

did anyone else notice that after 1.1 they also reduced the amount of HE crafting mats you would receive as a bonus for finishing the daily challenge mission? you used to get 1 HE material of each type. now it is just 2 HE mats (maybe 3, pretty sure its just two). I mean seriously. Another way that they restricted materials in the cheapest way possible without saying anything.

and now they constantly give us the daily assignment to craft 5 or more items. WHAT IS THIS?! they say that crafting shouldn't be as "important" but they restrict materials at the same time as making assignments to craft more things?!?

they messed everything up. to PC credits not having any value anymore, DZ credits being more important, blueprints still being the only source for reliable gear. lvl 32 bosses dropping almost nothing but 162lvl gear ( only set pieces I've seen dropped by named enemies are lvl 30 and 31, go figure). what a mess

    oh incursion? another fail

    what

I signed up just to say this:

UBISOFT SORT THE FCKING MATERIALS OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And trust me when I say I don't get angry at games much, but this really pissed me off. I only get to play 3-4 hours a week if I'm lucky and it will take me literally months if not years to get anywhere I really need to be. What you did to this game is NOT fun, not in any way shape or form.

Hey again, I've missed you so much!!!

    To my point:

All video games are about getting the best gear possible, what you have to ask yourself is, how long should it take?
I know you love the grind, you've told me before, so for you, you don't mind playing for a hours on end and getting nothing, where as most of the players don't, hence why you are getting so many players complaining about the time it takes to reach max level.

As gamers we are ALL ENTITLED to the best gear in the game, what we need to define is HOW LONG it should take.

    Quick edit:

90% of the rogue players in the DZ have the SAME gear.

Iam fine with the increased crafting reqs, but iam absolutely not OK with the drop rates and drop rate item quality. I can fully understand their reasong behind nerfing the crafting, but instead of giving us gear progression trough drops they actually didnt change anything towards it, lol... Getting a good drop is now as rare as getting a yellow before and crafting still left as the only option in terms of most items (weapons, mods, gear mods).

So uh oh, you want a item levle 32 gear mod or weapon mod? Weeeelll to bad baby girl, you have to craft it anyway and this time with even doubled crafting mats reqs XD

No... Just no... This system is NOT working.
