You guys wanted a DZ-based loot system where you NEED to do DZ (or grind out the same 10 missions 1,000+ times) and it's failing.
Geared in the 170's and now hitting the "craft or die" phase of the game, which sucks. What sucks harder is that I have to go into the DZ to start upping my gear levels and I am stuck in a grind with guys who are geared 190-207. Thats pathetic. You made sure low end people (GL<160) got protected, but in all honesty the game is becoming unplayable when I either need to extract every 10 seconds (and hope no one with higher gear comes to take it) or not even bother in the DZ 90% of the time.
Higher geared players simply kill people like me way too easily, take all the gear, extract, then use the parts to make themselves better gear. Disappointing when there is next to zero real way of killing them.
I would suggest a 3-tier gear level instance setting:
1-160
161-180
181+
Majority of people getting uber-ganked (or seal clubbed as the term has become in your game) are sitting in that 161-180 gear level area trying desperately to farm while not trying to be insta-gibbed by people who play as a full time job.
Let me tell you that what you ask for doesn't work.Originally Posted by EvilDwarvenArmy Go to original post
Why you ask?
Simple,if i equip my MP5 i'm GS 206 and if i equip my VECTOR i'm GS 201 but if i equip my AUG i'm level 189 and the best part is that my AUG does more 2200 per shot more damage than my other 2 guns that have bigger score and my other gear stays the same sentry/tac build...
Hi Evil,
I completely agree with you, I enjoyed the DZ at first because there was a lot of co-operation between neutral agents. Now everyone just runs round in groups, killing any other agents they find. It's kind of lost it for me now.
For me it seemed to change with patch 1.0.2.when they rebalanced / tweaked the rogue status. The one just before the gear scores were introduced. Since then nearly everyone I've run across has tried to kill me, and rogues are all over the place. Kinda ridiculous when you're not even carrying any loot at the time.
Whether it was because of the tweaks to the rogue status, or with agents dropping ammo, then I'm not sure, but I noticed it practically straight away since that patch.
Before the gear scores were introduced I got whacked by someone who was DZ rank 102, and his mates where all in the 80's. I was DZ 31 at the time and not carrying any loot, just trying to exit the DZ following an extraction. Why was I even in the same DZ as them?
It seems now that high level agents are targeting low level agents, it's almost as if they're deliberately trying to keep the lower level agents down. It's no coincidence that most rogues are in DZ01/02/03, regardless of what gear they have (which is surely superior to any they'd pick up).
So I definitely think that lower levelled agents should be protected more, and a tier system would do that. At least it would even out the playing field.
I think it would also help the situation if it was less rewarding to go rogue, either by making it harder to lose rogue status, or not having non hostile agents drop ammo / keys / xp or whatever. Hell, how about no reward at all for killing an agent that's clearly so many levels below you (and conversely, no loss for the low level agent).
After all, rogue status should be unusual, whereas now it's become the new norm. Not exactly what you'd expect from supposed "Agents".
For the DZ to have any longevity, (and ultimately the Division itself, as the DZ is supposed to be the end game), then lower levelled / geared players need a progression path, and not just being gibbed all the time by any agents they run across.
Sadly as it's progressing now, then I can see the DZ being for the select few with high level gear, while the majority have moved onto something else.
Just my two penneth anyway
EDIT - just seen Zefa's post and that's a very good point. I'm surprised a single item can change gear score that much, but a system based on gear score alone could be manipulated as it stands. After all, who uses pistols anyway...
Maybe the gear scores themselves need adjusting too? After all if Zefa's Aug is better than the other SMGs, then really it should have a better score.
Or just the way the overall score is calculated, a single item shouldn't affect it that much, but it obviously does.
I know how you feel, I just lost a lot of loot I earned because Another player waited for me to die on a boss, then when the boss leaves I arrived on top of my loot right when he stole it, (Because i worked for that loot, and it even said in the bottom corner that he "Stole" it) I killed him and picked my loot back up. I got marked as rogue for directly getting MY OWN LOOT from the player. Being marked rogue him and his friends proceeded to hunt me down and kill me, (Being marked rogue already means him and his buddies stayed unmarked). So I lost my hard worked for loot because some guy let me die and stole it without getting any punishment, instead the game marks him and his friends as heroes (for bullying) when I fought back.Originally Posted by EvilDwarvenArmy Go to original post
That sucks. I've had similar. Killed by NPCs, gear nicked and when I return for the rest then they're all waiting for me. What, 3 items of my gear not enough?Originally Posted by dpray Go to original post
They are. Easier to farm GL170 guys with some yellows you will use for crafting then farm the actual bosses with your 200 level gear. You really think they guys running full sets need the 163 gear your carrying? No, they want to reroll their vector for the 100th time trying to get that next reroll.Originally Posted by Red_1_GB Go to original post
AND
DZ will become the reallllllllly flush guys with lots of gear and a bunch of newbie trying to get some quick yellows without, hopefully, getting ganked. The only thing this will do is have guys that are really well geared and the rest of us. The difference between 161 and 200+ level gear is absolutely huge.
I hate going rogue..
But it's come to the point where i get shot at and have to make that split second decision..
Do i carebear and get melted.. or do I melt them and risk the whole server bearing down on me.. (and i don't blame them)
It does my head in honestly, it seems the higher DPS goes rogue first.. even if i've taken a few hits already.. it's broken IMO.
I barley even pick up loot these days.. i go in for the daily.. loose about half that xp before i even achieve my goal.. then as soon as that goal for the day is reached, i log.
I'd take friends.. but so many are playing something else now.. it's beyond sad.. no sane adult want's to deal with the crap we've copped lately in the DZ.. and the ones that are on are below 160.
Well I figured the gear itself wouldn't be worth it, but mats and giggles, then that makes sense.Originally Posted by EvilDwarvenArmy Go to original post
Honestly, I'm using the challenges to gear up, mostly for the Phoenix credits. The hard ones are easy enough, and last night I did a few runs of Lincoln tunnel with some higher level guys that carried me and the other newbies through.
I only meant to do it once for the daily challenge, but they kept replaying so I thought what the heck. Got enough for the Aug from the BoO Special vendor so I was pretty happy!
That said, I've spent hours in the DZ solo this weekend, and it's mostly gone without incident, although one guy ganked me on an extraction. Ironically I mistook him for one of the guys I'd run the challenge with earlier. Even more ironically, if he'd have got me a few minutes sooner then I'd have had a whole bag full of gold, but I destroyed it when I realised I could only extract one more item. I like to think of that as karma...
The majority have left me alone though, although I avoid groups and rogues (of which there are a tonne) and I'm naturally wary. Although that didn't stop me from exiting a vendor and finding 8 rogues sat there waiting for their timer to burn off. Man, I got the hell out of Dodge quick then!
If you guys are fed up of going solo, then you're welcome to look me up. I'm Red 1 GB on Xbox live, and I'm on most evenings (in UK time). Obviously then I'm not interested in going rogue and gibbing other agents (self defence aside) but I'll happily go in for loot and giggles.
I'm mostly solo since my mates haven't reached level 30 yet, so it'd be nice to have some company for a change.
Oh, and if anyone from Massive is reading this, then I really hope you tweak rogue status back to nearer it's earlier settings. It's far to easy to burn off now, giving them too easy an escape (I can't even remember the last time I saw a manhunt) and no disincentive.
And I thought we should be able to see them on the map? How can 8 rogues be stood around idly with no one seeing them?
After all, you've upped the rewards for them, so at least make it a challenge. Having access to ammo, was probably all the balancing it needed.
to the new players reason why you get killed so easy look at my stat's
