I just started an Alt and this game is fun. It is good. It is just when you hit 30 and start "endgame" that the issues become frightening.
With their decision to be so stingy with the drops they have eliminated one of the things that give games like this longevity, the ability to play with different builds.
Gear and mats don't drop anywhere near as much to allow players to customise their playstyle. How many of you run up to that gold pillar with "Meh" in your mind knowing that it is about 95% likely to be crafting mats?
These design decisions have rendered entire item subsets as useless as it is so hard to get gear.
Who has the time required to farm enough credits, mats and the pots of luck required to properly test the viability of Performance Mods? It is not that Performance Mods are not useful, it is just the thought of spending the time to get the gear/currency together to test them is horrendous.
Why are SMG's and MR's the only weapon subsets with inherent bonuses? This immediatly makes un-god roll AR's and any LMG sub optimal.
You have named unique weapons. Why are these not incredible? Why are these not the items everyone drools over wanting?
Gold drops need to be upped, again. Gold and Green Set pieces should drop from ANYTHING on a tiny chance and named mobs on a larger chance.
They need to be not scared of dropping iLvl32 items. Let us progress our character powers. Let us try new builds. This is what will make us replay content, not feeling like we are going to work to try and get "decent" gear.
They need to make their unique weapons drool worthy. They need to add unique "gear" that is also drool worthy.
Give us enough things to force us to make decisions about our gearing and playstyle. Give us headaches about it. We don't want funnelled into Crit Chance and Damage.
This is meant to be fun, if it is we will log in again. If it isn't we won't.

It actually kind of works if you only play the game. Do what the missions suggest or - if you know better - play whatever you want to be doing.
Also: The other weapon types have inherent headshot-damage bonus (with the MR having it 'extra-extra-bonus').
But yeah, the whole loot thing... hm... I might be missing something but right now, I'd love a "automatically deconstruct every loot on pickup below <insert gearscore>" - soooo much crap.
Dude, its designed to be a grind game. You dont get end game gear in 1 week. Stop being an entitled little ****, my lord. Only reason ppl have set builds right now is because they cheated. I have a 4 piece nomad, but it doesnt complement my build at all so I dont use it yet. So ridiculous how kids cry because they have to actually WORK for something.

These are horrendous issues with the loot system that shouldn't be here.
