How to Fix The Division Going Forward. No Rant/Crie Legit Discussion

How to FIX This game. Its clearly known as being broken currently. Because it is. Knee jerk reactions such as massive bannings will only go so far. And will not get everyone. And will get wrong people.. SO. How do you fix this game so players like me will come back. ( im personally done with division until they really fix things /insert rant /end rant.) Pretty simple, but takes time. The hacking and glitches for millions of DPS and whatever are not covered in this post. That is something that should result in direct banning and that is on Ubisoft to handle. I have no help for that. This is in relation to loot exploitation/farming.

PROGRESSION. Once the game has enough content to progress, all of the current equipment etc will become irrelevant. Anything that was farmed in vast quantities by glitches or exploits or hacking, needs to basically be made invalid. That is unfortunate to alot of people. especially legit ones. But it is the only true way to change the game dynamic without breaking it further. Its similar to when an mmo like WoW has an expansion and the new low level equipment you find is better then the best end game weapon you previously had. Destiny (another console mmo shooter ish like game) Also did this with their expansions. There was glitching there as well, and well get to that. Just remember TIME GATE. So overall its pretty simple. If they have something in the works for this months out. It would be ideal to speed up the release of this, IF they can do it without all the exploits and glitches available like they were this go around. In short. Current EQ and Currencies need to be made invalid with the next expansion/progression cycle.

TIME GATE - Limiting how many times a week someone can do a challenge mode, or an instance, etc and still get loot drops. People hate this. Because it hinders there ability to farm. I personally hate it. But stepping back and thinking about it. I see why games like Destiny did it with the raids. People eventually figured out how to push the bosses off the map. or unplugging there ethernet cable to keep crota kneeling etc. Allowed people to clear content without actually doing the content. Which was obviously bad. But maximum someone could do this per week was 3. IF they had 3 characters capable of getting into the activity (most people did). And im sure people will get to the point they can have multiple toons as well. But even with the glitch known, and being abused. People were still only getting 3 drops a week from that activity. As opposed to Division where you can farm it for hundreds of drops if you wanted. Exploits and glitches are GOING to happen. This is a great way to mitigate the damage they do IMO. And punishing people for abusing things that were broken from the start....... isnt really a solution IMO.

Balance. - This is a tricky one and ill leave it to the developers. I only bring this up because without making current equipment/currencies invalid, the abuse of exploits for gear directly impacts the dark zone. Getting rocked by someone in full end game gear a day or 2 after release of said end game gear SUCKS. Cannot even farm in the DZ anymore. Literally unplayable unless you are one of those who exploited early on.

Conclusion. - I hope i was able to get my point across of potential fixes in the future. Understanding that fixes to a game that is literally broken, and getting your audience back is extremely difficult and time consuming. This is not a quick fix, but some of what i said above should mitigate damage done by exploits. I want to love this game. It was awesome fun in the beta and in the first few days. Way too many bullet sponges to make content "hard". Its not hard. its boring. Ideally they will add mechanics and make some really cool dungeon style places. Whether fighting to the top of a skyscraper through enemies and MECHANICS to open doors etc. Or fighting through the subway systems hopping from train to train or whatever. If they can get away from the bullet sponge everything and add ways for the group to interact to progress through said dungeon style places. This game will bring people back on its own merit. The combat works and overall is fun. I think they should bring back overlapping cover as it made the game more enjoyable PVE wise IMO. But im rambling.

Please comment if you agree or if you do not. All views are welcome. Lets see if this actually gets noticed.

world of warcraft had time gates on main raids. you could only do a 10 man or 25 man 1x per week. once you killed a boss in a raid you were assigned a specific raid ID#. That ID# locked you to that raid instance and bosses did not respawn until reset. some world bosses had similar type timers. however, that may not work with the pace this game has, it wasnt like WOW had new raids coming out every 2 months, so they had to slow it down. dont think time gates will work in this game because the pace of new content.

Here is your problem if they lock the future content under GS then explain how to get the proper GS if this action was done?

Progression- I never cared for the idea of Mudflation, which is what MMO expansions introduce, to an extent it has to happen but not to extremes. I think what they should do to negate a lot of the gear gained from cheating is not with Mudflation but instead, actually redo the stats on Future 191, 214, 240 gear to be better than the previous cap of 182. I find that the 191, 214 gear is rarely better than the 182 gear, as a matter of fact I have a few 182 pieces that are way better than the 214 items. You give up a lot switching to the set gear, and in most situations its not worth it. There are times I will put on 4 pieces of Tactician for the bonus but as Electronics scales poorly and skills cap, not all that useful, except in certain situations. I think the gear score was done in haste, and the formula that calculates gear score, well honestly I don't think one exists, I just think it was done, as this is new and its X gear score, nevermind stats. Revamp/Create a formula on how the GS is calculated so gear is relevant. Gear progression is important, going back to an MMO EQ1/WOW/ect had Gear Progression, SWTOR did not, and was a huge failing of the game and the developers. Everyone just used PvP gear as it was better than anything you could get in PvE, therefor, no one did PvE content. That's one of the reasons, Blizzard put in the resilience stat for PvP gear, making PvP gear weak in PvE but strong in PvP. The same needs to be done here. It would also keep those who want to PvE out of the DZ and allow those who like the DZ to stay in the DZ.

Time Gate- The only time locked content in this game is the Incursion, which was exploited to the max. I have only done the incursion on the standard setting of Hard, and I believe you get a 214 item once a week and the rest 191, I am fine with this as you can farm the 191 all you want. When/if raids come out they should be limited to once a week.

Balance- Always tricky, but some things can be changed to prevent the over stacking of one of the 3 lines (Firearms, Stamina, Electronics). What they could do is on new gear, much like weapons they could put in place mechanics that force certain stats to be at a minimum to equip the item, much like talents on weapons. The weapon talents are so weak, most ignore them in favor of just stacking firearms to get more dps, Dropping Firearms to add Electonics for a 1-2% bonus, not going to happen. So say instead of just having a level check for items, 30 or DZ rank X, you had a level and stats Check. Level 30 +1800 Firearms, Stamina, Electronics or a combination, to equip weapons and or armor.

End Game Content - Since they are lacking in end game content at the moment, they could add additional ways to advance your character in the form of an AA system like some MMO's have used in the past. AA's are a grind, but it keeps their player base active and playing, which is after all the goal.

I enjoy this game, a lot, I think the mechanics are fun and engaging and I look forward to additional changes and content. That said, I believe some of the choices being made are poor and not well thought out, but I can do that as I am a player, not a developer. I can sit back and say, that was a poor choice this this and this would have been better, because I don't know what kinds of deadlines and crappy producers the development teams have to deal with on a daily basis. In the end, the developers do as they are told, because that's what they are paid to do. If the game fails, it will always be the developers fault, never the person who made the decision to implement X over Y. Its that way everywhere, the works have to work the long hours, do the work, and take all the blame.

can you elaborate? when you say when they lock future content under gear score how to get proper gear score... What i am implying is that the current "meta" the best of the best is no longer the best, the new gear being exponentially better making previously earned gear irrelevant. im not sure if i answered your question.... yes no?

Well to that id agree with you on the raid portions. But i dont see why they cant time gate in a similar fashion for challenge mode daily only being ONCE per day. No lesser drop of credits, just one run and cya later. And as for the pace. Slowing down the loot grind wouldnt necessarily be a bad thing. My point to this is to cut down on the abuse of in game mechanics and faults. Because as it is currently, people can abuse the hell out of current exploits and just horde a ton of the best of everything.

When i speak of timegate content, i dont mean the span of time leading to its release. I mean how often a person or team of persons can clear said content for rewards over a span of time. example would be u can do an incursion only once per week per character or account. or once every x days or whatever. Challenge modes are once per day, but u can still go farm them for pheonix coins by glitching final boss. and harvest coins like crazy.

What you said about PVP gear vs PVE gear i think is a great idea and hadnt even thought of it. The resilience stat u mentioned from WoW was really good at shifting focus for certain sets of gear for certain activities......

For starters, some damn communication from the team ffs....

I can careless about everything else, I don't care about bugs, exploits, hackers why? Because I know or at least have blind faith it will be resolved in time.

All I freaking want is that feeling of progression back. Logging on for hours at a time accomplishing nothing but deconstructing items or selling makes it feel so mundane. Just makes me not want to play anymore.
