    Amazon refunds

I pre-ordered the Gold edition on the 6th March from Amazon, thought that I wouldn't be able to refund it as it's been more than a month since.
However I sent them a support email and -

So if you thought you were out of luck, give them a go.

    Lucky you ...

I ordered mine via Ubisoft as a Digital Download and they already said that they won't give me a refund since you will never get a refund on any Digital Downloads. They don't even want to refund the Season Pass for the reason that it is Included in the Gold Edition -.-

Me as well and that was the last time I bought anything from that store. They are very well aware that other, better companies are taking refunds for their mess of a game. As the company actually responsible for this, they should be the first to offer one.

    Trick me once ...

Just do a chargeback on the card you used then.

You'll get banned from u-play but lets face it, who's going to buy another ubisoft game at this point.

Ubi will not give a refund since it is comming out of their pocket, other retailers are going to be the ones that takes the hit for any refunds they give and then they have to go and fight with Ubi to recover the funds.

They go our money and are loathed to give it back even when they know their game is broken.

Same with Steam. Apparently Steam got absolutely slammed with refund requests, so are being denied; especially if you're even a micro second over their 2 hour played rule.

I bought mine at wal-mart. I put it back in the case with the receipt, told the service desk the software was not functioning as advertised. She issued me an in-store credit card for the value of the game. Easy.

You can do this at any retail store because the software is not functioning as advertised.
