Which game is technically better Division or Destiny

As seen on the other forum. Was curious how the poll would reflect here.

We are talking about better in their respective current states. Since both sides have their fair share of people claiming their respective game is broken. And since the Division chose to market themselves vs Destiny/Bungie...well...this is a fair question to ask.

It is an opinion poll...not a poll asking for facts...just wanted to see how it plays out.

I feel that Destiny is in better working order. But both fall short on content. Both games are Carrot on a stick games, where you repeat the same handful of missions over and over again to attempt to get slightly better stats that you previously had. Both fall short in the replay/continuity department.

Of course this is my opinion. Some people might be ok, or enjoy this game style. But for me, it is getting quite old after 30 years of gaming.

It is not a fair question at all. You are talking about comparing the state of a 6 week old game to one that is nearly 2 years old.

What he said. But, Division has much more potential, and its not sci-fi, which for me its another plus.

One problem is, the formula for Looter games like this, has been experimented with for many many years. However it seems that the Dev's paid little to no attention to the history of these games.

If every one of these games followed the Diablo 3 Reaper of Souls formula, we'd all be much happier with them.

Technically? I can't see how you could compare them at this point without saying Destiny is better. Perhaps The Division potentially could be better, but Destiny has had the time to learn from its mistakes, where The Division is still making them.

Let's give The Division through its first paid DLC to ask this question.........otherwise you could pin it against any game and it would be tough to call The Division a winner, in its current state.

This is from someone who enjoys and currently plays The Division, but am also not blind to the glaring issues the game has currently. One can only hope the game gets better. I believe it will.

Comparing both games about a month since each was released:

Story / Lore - Advantage Division, though both are poor.

Missions - Advantage Destiny. The only mission I'd even say is comparable is the final mission against Bliss.

Open World Gameplay prior to World Events - Advantage Division. Destiny's world enemies were incredibly weak, the Divisions actually encourages group play. Even with some unstoppable rogue issues, Destiny was really a single player game where you could stand outside of a cave and shoot constantly respawning enemies.

Open World Gameplay after World Events - Advantage Destiny. The mass amount to types of events are far better than get to a box that has 2 purples.

Initial Raids - Advantage Destiny. Don't really need to say anything else.

PvP - Advantage Destiny. Division seems utterly broken in this regard. First, the power imbalance typically ruins the PvP. Second, Division PvP is like Goldeneye. Just run up and hip fire. For a game based around cover mechanics, little to no PvP fights involve using cover. Destiny had some weapon imbalance, but made gear irrelevant if you wanted it to be, and allowed for PvP combat that functioned like PvE.

Gameplay - I feel like this would be a preference. The Halo crowd would prefer division with the run and gun style, the tactical group / gears of war would likely prefer Division.

    Really man?

You're literally asking a DIVISION FORUM which game is better. What would you think was going to happen?

I agree with this. I like The Division as a game much better than Destiny and hope they fix the issues quickly. I would be happy to never play Destiny again. But I do like the more normal PvP matches Destiny has vs. the DZ and although I think the DZ has some real potential I would like a more structured PvP than what The Division currently offers. Bungie also separated the PvP and PvE experiences so that if someone cheated, glitched, whatever on the PvE side and gained the best weapoins and armor it would not have near as much effect on the PvP side of the game as it does in The Division. Yeah there are some great weapons in Destiny that give players a possible slight advantage but those players could still be killed by a low level guy in all greens. I truly hope Ubisoft gets their stuff together and fixes this game. It has potential to be a great one. As it is now though I am disappointed. With the reintroduction of the PoE in Destiny and with a PvP game that favors skill over gear sets I am back playing that game for a bit.

Taking the first few weeks of Destiny I was completed with all 3 characters and they all had 2 gold items and the rest purples. Since thats all that could be equipped.

The Division been playing since day one and still not completely done with my first toon.

Hands down The Division surpasses Destiny. I was asking myself "what to do" roughly after 1 week of having Destiny and the pvp was horrible. All you needed was to have 3 - 4 guys with the same clan tag and the other team would leave the pvp giving you a free win and gold loot.
