    Glitch vs. "Hack"

Personally I think people who use a glitch and people who use a mod or hack are light years different.

A glitch is something you shouldn't exploit but ultimately it's akin to speeding. You know better and you know if you get caught there is a penalty, but a relatively minor one. Not only that but any game dev worth a crap will fix the glitch usually within a week. Oh, and you CoD kids who are playing a MMO for the first time may not realize this, but, EVERY MMO has these early growing pains! A glitch didn't ruin the game any more than your crying on the forums ruined the forum.

    But...

Using a mod program or hack is out right cheating. You went out of your way to intentionally break a game and as a result the punishment for this should FAR exceed someone who shot through a wall. I have absolutely zero problem permabanning a person who installed a program that allows them to break the rules of the game. Not a 3 day ban, a permaban for the first offense.

Yes, both glitching and "hacking" are bad but no, they are not the same and the same punishment can not apply to both.

This is why if you mod your xbox in order to install and run 3rd party software it's a permaban not only for your account but also the mac address for the console until the year 12/31/9999

I never used the word "cheat". I was very specific in using the terms glitch and hack. Feel free to look those up.

Both are cheating a person you play against.

Weak people try to justify Exploiting but only really want a upperhand on their opponents..

More or less all the excuses you have to justify Exploiting can be used to justify Scripts.

I agree except the part that the glitch didn't ruin your expierence. First just try and get a group to do incursion that doesn't glitch. If you get lucky enough they kick your 182 gs out because they are 196+ do to glitching. Then enter the DZ and get owned by people 220+. So don't tell me the glitches don't effect legit players game. They might not be the same but both players are cheaters.

Spoken like a true cheater. Most people try and justify their actions even when they know what they are doing is wrong. What ever helps you sleep at night.

Excellent point. Love how someone else finds the end result is the same. Ultimately, I find it hard to fathom the developers wanted a DZ littered with exploiters, cheats, hacks, etc that have an unfair advantage over the legitimate players.
