We have all experienced, read about, and seen the issues that plague this game and continue to plague this game. I used some and groaned at others but in light of today's revealed glitches this is just too much. These recent issues in conjunction with no rewarding end game and the terrible loot/crafting system have finally pushed me out of this game.
Like a chump, I broke a personal rule about purchasing season passes and digital content. The game was initially amazing but slowly over this past week I have experienced and watched as the mighty titanic sank. I wish I could get a refund on both this game and the season pass but that is not likely to happen...thanks to Microsoft's no refund bs.
Oh well, live and learn I guess.
Going forward I will never purchase major titles digitally again, or season passes. It is much safer to purchase the dlc piecemeal even if I end up paying extra. Also, I will never purchase anything else by either Massive or Ubisoft again, ever, period.
Unless, they offer refunds for this game and the season pass or they suddenly get it together and fix this thing. I'm not going to hold my breath. Congrats on stealing a 100 dollars from me. It will be the last time you do it Ubi.
The Division (dividing players money from their wallets)
It was a worthy attempt at least. Ubisoft just doesn't have the experience in how to manage a multiplayer game. That's no dig at them, it' s just most of their games have been singleplayer. I'd have to give a HUGE KUDOS to the art team. The game looks...incredible. Great voice acting. Great cinematic scenes. The graphics are top notch. The fluid animations are great. However, what it comes down to though, the gameplay itself is just, well, the nicest thing I can say is they just don't have the experience to properly work a loot game, and they certainly don't have the experience on how to handle a multiplayer environment. They are also used to glitches and exploits being "okay" due to most of their games being singleplayer. In multiplayer, you absolutely must nip those issues in the bud or it turns into a nightmare.
All in all, I'd say the Division is a grand project that was worth the attempt, but unfortunately ultimately has failed due to a lack of experience for those developing the game and\or calling the shots for a multiplayer title. It's possible that it can be recovered and improve over time, but it's going to be a lot of work. So many things need to be re-designed from the ground up. The fact that just about everything is client side, and the fact that whoever is in charge absolutely needs to change their mindset on handling exploits is something that shows a long hard road to go down.
I couldn't have said it better myself. I also broke that rule of not pre-ordering stuff, because I played the beta and had so much fun. The beta felt like a solid product to me, and for the first week or so, the whole game felt like just what I'd wanted.
Then came the DZ hacking. It's never left, and people that I know have been reported many, many times are still teleporting around, one shotting people. Sometimes they use melee just to make the humiliation complete. I've had a guy do jumping jacks while I shoot him in the face before killing my whole team.
Then came players getting locked out due to crafting backpacks. Those players still can't play, by the way.
Then came the multiple rollbacks, ok, it was a launch game. That one I actually kind of forgave them for, Blizzard has done the same thing.
Then came Bullet King, which was just the result of a crappy design and (if they had any) horrible testing. That got left up for days before they nerfed open world bosses into the ground and swing the pendulum from "farm all day" to "never walk in 90% of the map"
Then came Falcon Lost and the APC being damageable by bullets.
Then players started getting their characters randomly deleted. They're still gone, by the way.
Then came Falcon Lost and mobile cover. Then they patched one specific spot and mobile cover still worked on the other 7 or 8 spots that you could glitch with. And despite mobile cover being used for nothing except physics glitches, it's still in the game.
Then came crafting exploits to obtain unlimited crafting materials and 999 PC.
Then came the gear swapping exploit that lets you pump weapons into the tens of millions of DPS. It's actually been around forever but it just finally broke mainstream recently.
This dev team has no idea what they're doing, their PMs have no idea what is important, their community manager doesn't exist or flat out isn't doing their job. I'm not mad because $100 is a lot to me, I'm mad because they flat out don't deserve it. Their art director deserves a $20 and the rest of them should put this experience down as interning on their resumes and walk away.

Totally agree. I tried defending this game and preached they will learn from their mistakes. But obviously that is not possible with a pack of amateurs.
The enviroment is beautiful and the attempt at a game with asymmetric PvP was bold, but utterly flawed. Worse still, the Dev team (or management) have been asleep at the wheel when it comes to rectifying bugs, exploits and hacks. Some of the design is downright lazy (higher challenge mode? more bullet sponges with incendiary grenades...) but other elements (weather, lighting) are jaw-droppingly awesome. It's so frustrating that they can't get their sh!t together.Originally Posted by RpTheHotrod Go to original post

The 2 games I pre-ordered in my life was Hitman 6 and The Division, Bot released almost simultaneously and the initial, hacker free Division actually made me forget about Hitman till I got locked out cause of a bug. Thats when Hitman 6 came to my rescue, Now, there are bugs in that game too, ****s not perfect, but it is soo much more fun to play than what Division has become as of now. I do support Ubisoft and Massive and stilll have hope, but what I will do on April 26th is get onto Hitman and forget about Division for a week xD. Atleast I get to be an Agent whos better than all other agents in the world xD
Yesterday, I would argue with you that The Division still has bright future ahead despite some hiccups and bumps on the road. I'm not going to do so today after learning how bug riddled this game is.Originally Posted by RpTheHotrod Go to original post
I love the game but even if I do I start to doubt this game will stay with me for longer period of time. I love ARPGs and grind&loot games from that genre. The Division was the closest thing to get to it in 3rd person, which was very interesting concept on PC where such games are very limited.
I absolutely agree with your 2nd paragraph. The issues are most likely hard-coded and embeded into the game in a way that is not easy to fix. This is where most of my worries comes from because if fixes do not start flowing real fast, there will be very few people playing this game in few months.
I have obviously been living a very sheltered "Division" life, I have been reading the toxic forums about hackers and what not but had been very lucky after 80+ hours of play to not experience it. Tonight was the first time I have encountered a hacker in the DZ and all I can say is how on gods earth can a AAA title such as this not have mechanisms in place to prevent this from happening?? I have read thread after thread about it and thought to myself I have been so lucky to have not been a victim until tonight. Left a horrible taste in my mouth. I must admit even without this I had been tethering on the decision to stop playing. Now that decision was made easy tonight. I feel so bad for those player that have been putting up with this for a long time and am lucky to have gotten this far.
I am disappointed because of the potential this game has and really hope they can fix it but I am feeling like that boat has long sailed. I'll keep an eye on the forums and see how you are all doing and if the game improves with some big patches otherwise I guess I have at least got 80 hours out of it. Saddest part is I purchased a season pass and wont probably ever get to use it.![]()
