So I was thinking, what about in the next Far Cry game your character is taught how to throw his voice in order to distract enemies.
How it'd work is you hold down a button (for example R1) and then press any of the directional buttons to make a sound, while holding R1 you will see that throwing blip thing (not sure what you call it lol, sorry) as that is where your voice will bounce off from, now you could either use the in game sound to throw the characters voice or alternatively you can use your microphone on your headset/camera to make a sound yourself, just a thought.
We have sort of a "mega-thread" for all things "next far cry" related here: http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php...-Cry-5!/page13
As to this idea specifically, I'm failing to see how it is different really than the current throwing a rock system other than the potential use of a mic. What from a system standpoint is different about throwing your voice than throwing a rock? It just seems to me like an unnecessarily complicated way of achieving the same end result.
Ew! Please no...Highly unlikely at any rate, because FC is a multiplatform franchise & M$FT doesn't really have a comparable technology. I've no interest in VR whatsoever, so I hope one of my fav. games doesn't end up on those platforms...Originally Posted by VampireMike Go to original post
What if the next far cry were based around underground drug dealers, and they had captured your parents. In doing so, they would believe that they had a new little worker bee that no-one would suspect of drug-dealing, etc., as you would just be a white 20 year-old tourist male...or female...that was just taking in the sights. You could have a whole bit on capturing the territories of rival gangs, blowing up their drug labs, etc. And you could end with either joining the drug lord you had been working for, or freeing your parents, or even just running away and telling the cops about what had been happening. Could be interesting....
I can just second that, no interest into VR at all - I would puke, a VR set makes me really sick. I am a private pilot and used to moving in 3D with some g forces, but sitting in a chair with a VR headset on, makes me incredibly fast sick in my stomage. The discrepancy between seeing to move and not moving at all in real life is nothing for me. The day, when games will go full VR and no longer provide normal view, will be the day when I will stop buying games. And why not, there is a fully interactive, immersive open world setting our there - right after opening the front door of my house - I do not need VR for that.Originally Posted by HorTyS Go to original post
Far Cry has to be careful not to become like Watch Dogs - and your idea sounds to me more like Watch Dogs than Far Cry.Originally Posted by Mysty_Waters Go to original post
Amen to that! Please no.... start an extra franchise for that kinda things.Originally Posted by HorTyS Go to original post
