A number of you already know this, but just in case...
DZ05 and 06 are, for all intents and purposes, already rogue-free zones. This may seem counterintuitive, as agents in the tougher zones will generally be carrying better loot. Why wouldn't a rogue want to kill the agents with the best loot?
Because rogues aren't killing agents for loot. As soon as you realize that, the game becomes a lot more fun.
Why it's safer in the northern zones:
1. Hardly anyone is up there (relative to the first four zones).
2. The non-rogue agents up there are actually well-equipped players with more experience (I mean, who'd wanna kill someone who's actually a challenge, right?)
3. The enemies are tougher. Rogues would have to fight both the agent and the AI enemies.
The last one is important: if a rogue were* to engage me and I was fairly certain the battle was already lost, I'd run directly to the enemies. The AI always does some stupid animation before they start fighting. You can slip by while taking only a small amount of damage or none at all. Your pursuer, however, won't be as lucky.
Like I said, many people already know this. Still, I continue to read posts about how horrible rogues are and how they're breaking the game and how there's no room in The Division for solo players. I'm not saying these statements aren't accurate, but there is a way around it and that way was described above. I'm 75 in DZ with all current blueprints and I've done it 100% solo by staying in the top two zones.
This might not work for everyone. But before you quit or use a loophole to make your gear score drop so you can play in the baby DZ again, maybe give it a try.
*The reason that sentence is written hypothetically is because I've literally never been attacked by a rogue in DZ05 and 06. And before someone says "You just don't play a lot," I've got like 337 hours into this game: http://divisiontracker.com/profile/xbox/VinnyML
EDIT: Guys. There's no reason to tell us that you or your group go rogue in 05 and 06 all the time. I said there were exceptions. We are all really impressed by you. Great job! In other, totally unrelated news: tell your dads that they own me money and/or pizza for doing their job for them.
Most the time the guys around dz5/6 are easier than guys around 1/2/3/4. Reason being people up there are actually farming for gear/DT.
1/2/3 is mainly where you find geared people who are just killing everyone. Anytime I'm rogue and looking for a good fight that's were I go.
I normally go rogue in dz 5/6 and kill the farming guys then go to 3 to farm more people trying to kill me.
If too many people come then I go back to DZ 05/06 cause most guys can't handle the mobs and just kill more people up there.
I do, and I kill people in the northern zones. Being engaged with tough mobs makes you an easier target. I will take a group of four on my own, because they are likely to assume a boss up there did it, at least for a few seconds.Originally Posted by vmlabarbera27 Go to original post
Either you are extremely lucky or X-Box has a low population. As for what you would do if a rogue engaged you: You would die. Because anyone willing to solo rogue in DZ05 and DZ06 will kill you before you know what happened.
Maybe. But probably not.Originally Posted by DarienStegosaur Go to original post
OK...here is what you need to understand. The loot in the DZ is not yours until you extract it. It isn't. Nope. It is mine. And all of y'all need to keep your greedy paws of my loot. The fact that I kill you and leave it lying there is because it is meant to stay where it is. It does not mean I am not coming back for it later....it just means that I need to kill a lot of people that are stealing my stuff...before I clean my room.
This has nothing to do with what we're talking about.Originally Posted by Ash20011 Go to original post
