I normally enjoy tactical shooters. I'm not an MMO guy really. My friends are into more casual games like The Division, and they were super enthusiastic. The Tom Clancy name sold me on it.
I got into the beta, enjoyed it well enough, and ordered the Gold Edition. We had 16 people playing at launch; we got to 30, and then hit the DZ.
I am now the only person still playing. The others have moved on to other games and I've recently picked up Battlefleet Gothic Armada to give me something to do other than farm Lincoln tunnel for the same boring performance mods or other crappy crafting mats.
Hackers run rampant in the DZ and this has gotten so bad that we are killed repeatedly, every time we enter, to the point where we cannot advance.
People that exploited or nolifed got much better gear that we have no chance of competing with.
The content is pretty stale at this point.
I'm bummed out, and really worried about Wildlands at this point, which WAS a day one buy for me based on the preview.
Our choices are now to farm boring missions for terrible gear or get ganked by obvious hackers in the DZ. Just not having fun with it anymore.
I got my money's worth. I really hope The Division continues to improve and will draw my group back in. Is anyone else having a similar experience?
Over the course of the open Beta and the last few weeks I added like 20 ppl on uplay, who were enjoying this game at the time. Now, if I am lucky, 1 or 2 of them will be online occasionally.Originally Posted by DarkFire66 Go to original post
The only people still playing in my clan are those few blessed by RNG or happened to be in a position to buy the M1A and AUG blueprint off the vendor. All others have moved on. I'm waiting to see if they put the M1A back on the vendor. If they choose not to then I too will be moving on as that "slap in the face" debacle is one I just can't stomach. Felt too much like dev abuse for my liking.

Not many. For the first few weeks after launch, I had about 45 friends on my list playing. Over the weekend, I've seen five playing. I just got done playing Ratchet & Clank for a bit and only two people were playing Division. A bunch were back on Destiny, some were back on Black Ops 3.
Honestly, I'm only playing the game once a night now, right after daily reset. I've got too many other games to play that aren't as painfully grindy (and one that sorta is [looking at you, Bravely Second: End Layer]).
the division was the first game since vanilla WoW that all 12 of my group have played the same game at the same time. there is only 4 of us left that regularly play. 3, maybe once or twice a week.
this whole, DZ bs is killing the game for a lot of people. cheats, exploiters make being in there impossible.
everything massive do, as far as changes to the game go, are all geared to forcing people into the DZ to progress gear. but thats impossible as cheaters and exploiters run rampant killing everything that moves.
its hard to get loot, its nearly impossible to get division tech.
the best part of the game was the missions when leveling to 30. the DZ, is just an eyesore. and its the sole reason the legit players are leaving the game (well, maybe not the sole reason).
well im playing in a 200 man community which gave a try on the division. first two weeks were amazing. well now we are two people left. all the other are back to star citizen and black desert. well done ubisoft.
ps: one thing i have to say. we told everyone not to by the season pass till ubisoft sho us that they are worth.
well 200 less season pass buyers
all of my real life friends arent playing it anymore, some of the nice guys i've met in the first week unsintalled the game.
I end up farming dz alone, (lvl 60dz, 185k dmg, 65k health) and get stomped by exploiters or hackers in groups
i dont feel like grinding/extracting/rolling for useless items stats anymore
will not uninstall but will definatly not play until i see some improvments
am also telling anyone to avoid either buying the game or the season pass because its a waste of money
simple business rule:
1 happy customer = promote to 3-4 persons
1 unhappy customer = will downvote the product to at least 11 persons
i guess they are not aware how much money they are losing
I had three friends that were playing when beta launched. I'm all that's left. I'll be honest, the lack of league/clan support is really turning me away from the game. I enjoy it, but I came from an MMO in which the league I was in was awesome, even though the game itself was having identity problems. I just find the matchmaking and the overall social aspect of The Division lacking. I understand The Division is not an MMO, but it pushes group play as if it were, yet lacks a reliable way for players to put a group together. <-----just my opinion.
The game is fun, but it can turn even the most casual player sour with some of the bugs/bad luck you encounter in this game. People want their time spent to mean something, where in this game you can literally spend hours playing and not improve your character at all. Playing for fun is reasonable, but when you have nothing to show for your time spent, that "fun" turns into frustration.
They defo don't get it. We are also playing in a community, so are tons of gamers.Originally Posted by BBQ-Nariquo Go to original post
So many of the people was clever enough to give it a week or 2 before they bought the game because of Ubi's track record.
We told them not to even buy the game for now, never mind the season pass. That's also about 250 copies of The Division and future season passes they missed out on.
This is suppose to be their flagship IP going forward? I doubt it
