Since update 1.1 i have been experimenting with the material boxes a lot around the light zone. before the patch i did my best to collect and convert materials due to the coming changes. since the update i have been running around collecting materials as well, but the rate at which i get HE mats are much lower.
I didn't see this anywhere in the patch. I have higher scavenging now than before the patch due to better armor, but yet its very obvious to me i get HE mats almost never.
For example i just went to 4 different locations for electronics. Not 1 HE electronics. Before the patch it was rare that one site didn't yield at least 1 HE mat. Often I would get 2 or 3 out of just 1 box. I have not had 2 HE in 1 box since 1.1 update. and the rate that i get them is much, much lower.
i know crafting isn't supposed to be as important but why make even more of the map useless for end game? most of the map becomes worthless at the end game, and this gives me even less incentive to continue exploring the world they built (theres nothing new to find but mats really, but now i won't even do that. just fast travel everywhere, the only place ill run around is the DZ i guess to get mats now?
that was the intention right? not only make HE items deconstruct less but HE mats drop less so that people are forced to the DZ for HE mats. thats all lvl 30 HE items are good for anyway
Scavenging is broken at the moment, I know big surprise. Anything over 100 is wasted and causes it not to work right. As to collecting mats yeah with conversion rate so high now it is pretty much 2 hours of work for one or two mats if you get lucky enough to get enough to convert.Originally Posted by phoreman Go to original post
Unfortunately crafting is just as important as ever. The only reason to bother with the DZ is to get crafting patterns. The only reason to grind Phoenix Credits is to get crafting patterns.Originally Posted by phoreman Go to original post
Outside of loot drops in Incursion, crafting is the only reliable way to gear up. Just like before.
Pre-1.1 it was Challenge Modes + Crafting for Level 32 gear (now GS182). Post-1.1, it's Incursion + Crafting for GS204+ gear.
Oh, sure, you can see 200+ gear drop from DZ bosses in DZ05 and DZ06.. if the planets align just so and you roll 20 on a 1d20 and the loot gods smile favorably on you.
Can confirm. Opening crafting boxes in pve is totally broken and joke now. Getting loads of greens and some blue. Seen i think 1 or 2 yellow material after patch 1.1
The list grows each day i'm thinking if i will continue playing this game in longer run. Without glitching you cant stay compettive if bullet sponging challenge modes are same in next incursion. Those few who continue playing this game will find soon empty servers. Extracting items from DZ good luck with that...
ya what a nice morning that was. signed on to check out the update and got 2 missions done with 4 HE drops from the boss. they finally felt worth doing for the time put in, especially compared to the changes in the DZ. (not to mention got a socom m1a with balanced that morning)Originally Posted by PyroPaul Go to original post
now i can run around for maybe an hour and fill my DZ stash with mostly HE items, but that ends up being max 25 mats (usually weapon and tools, little elec and fabric in comparison)
its funny how uubisoft wanted to make crafting less important, but by adding the 204 BP its almost more important. Plus Gear Set Blueprints in the BoO and elsewhere makes it so completing your set is most likely done by crafting at least one gear set item....
they're really just messing things up as they go. i understand its a work in progress still, but we had all hoped for a working game with a working system after so many years of development. didn't they delay this game 3 whole years?
Don't forget that those set pieces are ridiculously expensive to craft in terms of mats. When 1.1 dropped, I had enough Phoenix Credits to buy one pattern and after getting a very lucky 191 Sentry Gloves drop in the DZ, I decided to buy the Sentry Knee Pads. 22 HE Fabric and 8 HE Electronics per craft. Three crafts later I got a decent roll but yeah.. goodbye mats! To replenish those mats would mean spending almost a whole day farming either the DZ or HMs/CMs for materials to dismantle.Originally Posted by phoreman Go to original post
Did my third char and he is 10 now. It is basically impossible to craft any item while leveling because it takes about 5 levels of stuff to craft a item that is replaced 2 levels after.
Not many people did that anyway but I thought it was the general idea since there are low level blueprints. Thank you devs for absolutely killing crafting.
