So I've been reading a lot recently through region chat and twitter and gaming websites that players exploiting the Falcon Lost glitch are going to be temporarily banned.
I know Ubisoft said that they are "looking into what can be done in terms of punishment for those who have exploited."
I've seen 3 days pop up a lot online as a duration for the suspension given that hackers who get caught are issued a 3 day ban as a punishment for their first offense and it says in the Code of Conduct that the action to be taken against a playing who is glitching is a temporary suspension (if it is their first offense).
However, what I want to know is if players have been punished for exploiting other glitches before or would this instance be the first?
TLDR; Was anyone banned or temp-banned for using glitches other than the Falcon Lost Cheese yet?
Also, what would you guys deem an acceptable punishment for glitchers?
No and nobody will be banned. You'll be lucky to see people have their glitched gear taken off them.Originally Posted by DiarmaidB Go to original post
After all is said and done they'll probably just have people walking around in a 'dunce' hat for a few weeks. Sorry for the let down.
The 3 day bans are for first time caught hackers. Exploiting, especially when its done to the extent it has been since Tuesday, is a milder offense done by far more players, very much doubt bans of any period will be used. And nothing serious either like character rollbacks, Ubisoft wants players around to buy dlc and junk like costumes and emotes. All they can do is rapidly fix the cheeses, and maybe make future Incursion drops slightly better, kinda making all the time players exploited this week fruitless because next weeks drops will be better anyway.
ya previous bans were for hackers and that is a much more serious offense in most peoples eyes. If they ban the people who exploited this glitch then they would've had to ban other people who exploited other glitches somehow. There were loads of them. People farmed police academy and bullet king like mad. i dont see them doing anything drastic to those who cheat. how could they? it was probably thousands upon thousands? dont you think?
Banning kids for Modding or Boosting is one thing, Banning 50% of their player base because of a bug they didn't fix, that anyone can access, is near impossible. Considering the real damage was only able to be done in a 24 hour span, and yes I have kids with 228 gear score on my list and it's whatever, so I understand the frustration. In the end, I have a reason to sign on and play for the next couple weeks, and the kids who glitched will be complaining the games boring and they have nothing to do because they bugged their way to end game.
Thats why Massive would be extremely clever to make Incursion gear slightly higher spec 240 is now 260 (old 214 now drops at 240) would quickly rebalnce the advantages glitchers got in week one. Anyone who reaches the new max gearscore have actually played for it, not farmed an exploit in its first week.Originally Posted by OPTIMUS HIGH LG Go to original post
First off, thanks for the replies and answers guys. Also, I'm not hating on the glitchers for using glitches, I may or may not have even tried a few of em myself. I personally think that these problems are only around because the software testers didn't do their jobs right and they should take responsibility for their mistakes rather than making it seem like its the player's faults for exploiting them. I tried to keep my opinion neutral on the post just to get a solid answer, I'd agree with making gear higher to make the old gear redundant. Seems like a good idea, anyone think of anything else?
