My success with it says otherwise. Unless I have two or more shot gun rushers that my team ignored for some reason closing in on me, I don't ever have to worry about the AI just rushing me and killing me. I quite literally soak shots like its going out of style. I have muzzle brakes on both weapons, shoot any enemy not aiming at me, and try to keep my team safe. Ran a challenge mode last night with a 169 gear score. Every one else on my team was 190+ and they had repeated deaths. I was in the thick of everything, with bullets flying at me from all directions, and died one time. And that was to a random couple of nades. Even had one of the 190s in my group trying this combo after he asked how I was tanking shots so well. I eventually plan to get at least 85% resistance with both skills up, at which point I'm not gonna have to be afraid of much of anything.

Needless to say, it works for me and I'll keep using it. Being able to take shots that barely tickle my health bar even while being flanked far makes up for having to be immobile. I'm going to be extremely upset if the listen to all the kids in this forum if they remove this awesome skill.

I've been using mobile cover with smart cover for the corridor based missions since I was first told about it. I can sit behind cover, blind firing at multiple runners, and often survive even when my teammates get wiped out. Even if the runners get around my cover I can soak up a few shots before I go down.

It seems that Ubisoft Massive didn't notice my thread because according to the patch note, they didn't remove the Mobile cover and, mark my word, in 1-2 weeks there will be other exploit with this god damn skill

You must have been playing with some really bad players if 190+ are dying multiple times in challenge mode missions. Another example of why gear score is not a credible way to gauge a players skill level. Mobile cover has never and will never be more useful than just about any of the other skills in the game. In my 400 hours played, 99 dark zone levels, and a mind numbing amount of challenge mode missions.... I have NEVER seen someone use this skill to great affect(unless you mean glitching), ESPECIALLY not in a challenge mode mission where anyone that is min/max'd correctly in 182+ high ends can destroy EASILY.

The mobile cover is the worst skill in the game design wise, and even WORSE skill in the game execution wise.

Please remove it and replace it with a new skill entirely, save yourself grief from the glitches, and introduce a skill that players might use.

Mobile Cover absolutely should be disabled until they fix it or replace it.

This does seem to be really obvious, but I bet it's not as simple as commenting out the relevant code.
The whole skill tree is probably built like a house of cards.

I've looked at some of their scripting code before, and it's kind of a mess. A lot of it is manually thrown together. For example, dailies are literally hardcoded instead of generated. If someone calls in sick on a day and no one is around to put in the code for a daily that wasn't already created ahead of time, there won't be a daily. That's why we didn't get dailies over that weekend before the incursions. No one bothered to manually put in dailies for those days.

Could very well be true - disabling the skill in the tree could mean disabling anything else associated with it (since the skill is unlocked along with a bunch of perks); it could also end up disabling the Signature Skill (just because programming works that way sometimes).

It might be simpler to leave the skill selectable, but prevent it from being used (disable the ability to launch it if you click the button to do so), but nothing is simple in a game as complex as this. That doesn't mean they shouldn't find a way, but you're probably right that they may still be looking for a way to do that without causing a cascading failure.

Seems pretty lazy coding on the part of the dev, to set the out of bounds peramiters as the general location of the mission, and not take into account any kind of elevation changes, unless you clip through the bottom of the map..
Don't agree unless all falling through the map bugs are fixed. I played Lincoln tunnel the normal way and felt two times into a non playable area -> restart at the next safe house, move back to the team.

So should I have been resetted because of a buggy game? No thanks.

    What?!

It is not encouraging to hear that dailys are hard coded.

I hope you're about that. Sometimes it's good to be wrong.
