I've seen this a couple times. I'm in the 161+ bracket and had a couple of guys go rogue on us. Our group was spread out and it was 4v1, not in my favor. When I got downed, I saw the player had a gear score of 147. Whatever they did to "fix" higher gear scored players from going lower yesterday, has had the opposite effect, bringing guys up that shouldn't be there. I should say, that I immediately went back and wiped their team.
Not sure what to tell you, other than double check your bracket when going in. Hopefully, you can re-matchmake into the proper bracket.

Fixed a loophole where players could enter a lower gear score bracket in the Dark Zone

Before the patch, you could keep whatever gear you wanted in the stash and be matched based on your equipped gear.
After the patch... you will have to dump all the gear with higher score than the prefered gear of usage on another character.
(Make an alt and play until you land with the chopper and you gain access to the first stash box in the "hub zone").
Even keeping extra primary/secondary weapons with higher rating than the ones you have equipped... they have to go too!
And if you still need to dump your GS further... equip that Defiler sidearm, it's level 4 and has no GS.
In short... dump all excess gear into the inventory of an alt to enter your prefered bracket.
Personally... I enjoy the 0-160 bracket due to more mobs/less people and most key chests and DT boxes are unlooted.
They only made the loophole require an alt.
Even if you technically should be matched based on your equipped gear... they just did a bad quick fix, like everything else.
Hell.... get into the 160 bracket and if you equip some other gear that pushes you over 160.. force move you to the big boys bracket.
It's pretty simple... but hey!
