Ubisoft community manager Natchai Stappers has revealed those who have knowingly exploited its first Incursion, called Falcon Lost, will be met with some kind of punishment for doing so.
“Obviously it is against our Code of Conduct and the team is looking into what can be done in terms of punishment for those who have exploited,” Stappers writes in the official forums for The Division.
As of now, those who have hacked The Division in other ways have received a 3-day ban with no other form of punishment, such as a wipe of a player’s stats. Considering that kind of punishment for hackers, we wouldn’t think Ubisoft would punish those who knowingly glitch the Falcon Lost incursion any worse than a few days ban from playing The Division.
Imo they should lock the next incursion for a week on drop for anyone who exploited this one

I haven't done Falcon Lost yet I have been busy with something else. I want to add my two cents anyway. This is 100% asinine. I don't like bugs, it's lazy. I preferred to just kill Omnigul instead of wall walking around and killing her with Icebreaker.. because that would be boring. When I do Falcon Lost, I want to go through the raid normally, because bug exploitation would be boring. I don't judge those who would use it, to each their own and oh by the way, they didn't put the bug there.

Can you imagine if Destiny banned a player every time a player found a loot cave? They would have no players left. Which is the road Ubisoft is trying to walk down right now. What good is it going to do to alienate players who found a bug you put in the game, and for that matter annoy parts of your player base that haven't even done it? Yes, it's lazy and a contradiction to the point of the raid to simply do it without combat, but punishing players for your mistakes? You're better than this Ubisoft. Ubisoft is one of my favorite publishers in the entire industry, has been for a while. This however is an ugly black eye to that love. Literally, this is saying out loud, "we made a mistake and we're totally mad we don't know how to fix it, so get rekt people who pay for our games and services."

If this was some DZ exploit, fine, punish. That would be players ruining the experience of those around them. I notice there has been no talk of these players who keep going manhunt, and then kicking / inviting a friend so it forces a server transfer.. because that's fun to come across over and over. ZzZzZ

If you hold your ground Ubisoft and take this road.. you're going to see salty players who haven't done anything ban worthy leave this game and not come back. I haven't even done Falcon Lost yet, and I find exploits boring, I would rather play the game and even I feel salty. You're punishing customers for your mistakes and then waving a flag so the attention is on their actions not your hot-fixes. I know this sounds overly critical but it has to be. I see one of my favorite pubs going down a really bad EA-esque decision making route and it sucks.

Take a step back, admit your mistakes, move on. Don't push half of your Division player base away.

You need to read the EULA and the TOS and understand that they can change/withdraw the service at any time for any reason they choose and if you've been exploiting, which is against the TOS, then you're screwed and no amount of being American will save you.

They still haven't fixed the 4 week running backpack/infinite loading bug for everyone affected yet, or made good on their word about un-erasing those poor X*****s who totally lost their characters. Those should be priority issues, not boss farming glitches & glitchers.

Damn you can't say xb-o-n-e-rs on a forum for a pegi 18 game that features swearing.

Yes, you're the one threatening to take ubisoft to court, but I'm the one looking foolish. Oookay kiddo.

I totally agree with punishment but also all agents that did farm Bullet king / Russian consolate and high geared agents that bullying in DZ 0-160 bracket deserve punishment.

Yet no mention of punishing everyone that abused the BK exploit or people who boosted their DZ rank, like exploiting the Incursion is somehow considered a stronger offence despite the fact they're all just ways to obtain gear more quickly.

    Ok.

Woah there, you don't want to be playing The Division alone would you?

You guys are going to be really upset with whatever their "punishment" ends up being.

It certainly wont be permabanning, they would be shooting themselves in the foot. Anyone with ANY foresight at all should realize this.

It could be a 3day ban, it could be a rollback, it could be removal of 240 items.

    You know what though?

This is simply damage control and whatever they choose to do will be minimal (if anything at all)
