TUSHI! I felt this way for the first 10 seconds of the game, but there are some good reasons as to why this is beneficial. Judging by the caps, I'm gonna assume you're really frustrated and now I'm gonna ignore that and treat you like an adult.

When the HUD is disabled (how the game is supposed to be played) you don't have the luxury of knowing via an icon whether or not you are crouched. So if you're like me, and you spend a good 10 minutes or so scouting out a camp and silently assassinating everyone, it helps to know that you're crouched so that you don't accidentally stand up and expose yourself to everyone. It's easy to forget when there's no HUD and you're focused on success.

Also, the entire point of the vignetting is to make it slightly more difficult for stealth. There's standing mode, which is loud and boisterous, and there's a stealth mode which is quiet and sneaky. Obviously the stealth mode gives you an advantage and you have to earn your kills by dealing with the increased difficulty of limited peripheral vision.

So to summarize, if you want to stealth kill and not draw every Udam or Izila to your location, you have to pay attention and work for it.

    Ni....Ni....

    ummm no

sorry about the caps i didnt think we took speaking online to this level of reality. anyhoo my eyes dont get dark when im hunting deer in real life. if your in your game and cant tell the difference between sitting and standing then i dunno man, are you the dev? if not then your answer is judged by your level of difficulty. if its going to be a permanent thing without the option of turning this visual restriction in broad daylight. its like putting on a silly mask. if you are then i dont need to pay for this game thats all im trying to say. its like adding motion blur its not needed. once again if your confused about crouching or standing when the movement and weapon stance cleary changes a bit.

point said, theres no reason to burden somone for trying to be sneaky thats just stupid. your already low and cannot move fast and grass is in the way. what more do you need?
please make this an option to turn on or off. its just vignetting thats blackness in the corners and darkening of the screen by 25 percent in case anyone was wondering. it just dosnt happen when you sneakwalk and this is a new feature and the priors didnt have it.

"So to summarize, if you want to stealth kill and not draw every Udam or Izila to your location, you have to pay attention and work for it."

wow really thats common sense to any stealth situation, like really? if you think your peripheral vision goes dark or lessons before your making a stealth kill you sir have never hunted before and you need to go to the doctor. thanks for the smug response, next time ill check my cappies at the door.

the vignette is so subtle I barely even notice it myself, though with all the other HUD options they have I don't see the harm in adding one more...

    thats fair

didn't mean to come off as a jack hole, my presentation suckst. but my tv man it goes so dark.and i don't understand because in broad daylight its so bright. the game is vibrant and beautiful its just a bummer it makes me squint. i have my gamma on normal but i have to jack it up while crouched so i have all my eyesight just to sneak and get the advantage. all im trying to say is sneaking is a burden this way, im suppose to be more cautious of my surroundings...duh right? your eyes are alert not squinted, you should have more vision if anything.

the night is beautiful with the animal eye glow not many games other than metro and outlast have used this. its night and day literally to any previous far cry game. its monolithic land is just great, cant say how much im pleased with it.

BUT that vignetting in the corners.. a real thorn to immersion.

So please UBISOFT open your 29 year old wishlist bag from customers for ideas and help. my wish is on the top,i just kinda but it before all the others... bc im needy.... Good Luck

I will admit I find the vignetting a useful easy to spot in the moment reminder that I am or am not crouched. I also prefer to play without HUD but I also get your point about the altered weapon stance. Sometimes it can get very dark when crouched too especially near the end of the day. So I also think an option to turn it on or off would be a good thing.

I also love the games amazing atmosphere including as you mentioned the eyes of the wolves and so on at night - that one just works so well - allowing you to both target them at need and being spooky as hell too.

Gwarshta It's all good man, I wasn't offended by it, I just wasn't going to waste my time if you were going to be immature about it. But again I totally understand where you're coming from and I respectfully disagree; I really enjoy the vignetting.
