I find it hilarious that everyone is like wipe their characters, permaban. If they did that, there would be no playerbase in the game and it would die. You adapt and overcome. I'm gearscore 180 something, there's dudes with a much higher gear score than me. They took a shortcut. Do I care? No. The game isn't going to be any better off. This game is a mess, but what you're all proposing is stupid.
I spent 100 on the game and pre order DLC and bought the military and special forces skins. I also did the normal mode last night with a full group using the glitch to see what it was about. It was terrible and took forever. It was boring and it stupid. If the game developer chooses to ban me or wipe my character I can guarantee that Ubisoft nor Massive would ever see another dollar of my money and pretty much everyone I know feels the same way. Since they didn't immediately shut down the incursion and they continue to let it go on, the only choice is to fight fire with fire to keep up or quit the game.
I don't fight fire with fire - I get mopped in the dark zone, farming for garbage to craft since that's the only real way to get the best gear in the game. I feel overwhelmed and quit playing the game.
I fight fire with fire - clever use of game mechanics - gear my character up casually best I can and take my chances. Either way, the trend with this game is lots of problems, not many solutions and even less incentive to play the game.
I can't believe everyone is just okay with this model honestly, GS 220 for the next incursion, means higher level drops and most of what you're getting now and in the last month is invalid. This whole debacle is just a mess.
On top of all of that, the majority of the playerbase doesn't even visit the forums and I doubt "everyone" is okay with people just taking away gear they got - regardless of the circumstance. The elitist attitude and chest puffing that comes with Gear Score and Hardcore vs Casual is ignorant in the gaming community.
I ended up using the exploit on the Police Academy and General Assembly missions last weekend, just to try it out and see how it was done. It felt hollow and stupid, not to mention I got absolutely nothing of worth from it, to be honest. Anyway, I felt disgusted for it and I ended up reporting myself.![]()
I don't think exploiters and glitchers shall even deserve punishment. It's Massive's fault for not patching all bugs, glithces, and exploits before the game's release. They had 2 years in development, that should be long enough to find them all and patch them all. If not, hell, this game had 2 months for warm-up, allowing players to beta test the game. But... none of these even matter, Ubisoft just pushed this half-completed game out and slapped 60 dollars on it. They don't even have stable and functional servers, that's what the biggest mistake is. And don't even mention about cheaters, games, especially MMO ones still have cheaters should be ashamed and get slapped in the butt hard.
So, the develop team for this game shall be brutally punished by slapped in the face or in the butt more than fifty times, I don't care about their genders, but seriously, they screw things up and then choose to screw it even harder. I believe there are a lot of ppl already saved up to over 200+ HE materials for everything, ready for that ugly craft systems change. Ubisoft failed to take care of "ALL" players, they failed to patch "ALL" problems, they failed to make "GOOD and STABLE" servers. Hell, I wouldn't doubt if there are still players got locked out after the 1.1 patch released.
To the people that are saying "dont ban then just reset their character back to level 1", you do realise that with the state the game is at the moment, that would basically be the same thing?
People are so disgruntled and disappointed with this game at the moment that I can gaurentee you 99% of people that have their account reset would just quit playing.
I havent been using the glitch so I have nothing to worry about, but so many people have been that Ubisoft just cannot afford to lose that many players.
Most of the people doing it i dont even think would normally do something like this, lots of them are probably just doing it because literally everybody else is and if they don't do it themselves they will fall behind and its unfair.
The way to fix this is to:
1) Shut down the incursion until either it or the mobile cover is fixed.
2) Wipe all lvl 240 gear from all accounts. Yes I know some people may have got it legit and that sucks for them but lets be realistic here, the percentage ratio of glitched to non glitched 240 gear pieces out there would be around 99.99% glitched and 00.01% legit.
3) Apologise to the community and try to save some face.
This game is bleeding players like no AAA title I've seen before, this game won't even have a player base when its first official DLC comes out the way its going.
It's the developers fault, no body else to blame. Look how quick they fixed challenge bosses dropping 4 HE items, and the original "exploits" on Falcon Lost.
It's MASSIVE'S fault this exploit has gone unchecked for days on end, we all know it's been revealed to them for quite sometime. Not to mention they have know that mobile cover is allowing wall glitching since the beta FFS. Had that been addressed then, we wouldn't be in this situation.

Do nothing to those that exploited the incursion, similarly to those that exploited the challenge mode bosses / bullet king.
Patch the problem
Let everyone move on.
Those that exploited will have their gear and be ready to carry on with the game.
Those that were whining can move on and find something else to whine about.
Right, how about hiding in the pit so the APC can't touch you? That was "unintended"Originally Posted by Diedel443 Go to original post
