    Community Recommended Weekly: Shogun's Recommended

    Shogun’s Recommended Track Drop

Greetings, riders. It’s been two years of Trials Fusion and I’ve had a blast playing all of the amazing creations our building community has given us. For the week of the anniversary I decided I’d take over the Community Recommended feed and suggest some tracks you all should definitely check out. In the early days of Uplay Recommended we had to pass over a lot of tracks because we couldn’t get them to run on Xbox 360. Because of that I had a very long list of great tracks that we wanted to feature but couldn’t back then. I wanted to take this chance to highlight a few tracks that players on some platforms probably missed in addition to some of the new new hotness on Track Central. It was very hard to narrow this list down to only 10 tracks but I did it and here is what I came up with.

    Traffic Flow by TeriXeri

The TKO Panda was a new addition to Fusion and while it’s not everyone’s cup of tea there are some Trials players who really enjoy this 4-wheeled bad ***. For those players I selected TeriXeri’s Traffic Flow. This track features a lot of high speed and big jumps through a very well-crafted city environment. The colors are vibrant and inviting with a lot of yellow and a few well done animations add some real life to the track. The flow that’s alluded to in the name is fairly elusive so make sure you run this one a few times to find the fastest line.

    -Rats Way- by DR AONES

In Trials Evo and Fusion DR AONES managed to come up with a very unique visual style that few have even tried to duplicate. This track shows that off well and is pretty fun to boot. Big jumps, big drops, big speed and big danger are at the core of this experience. If you haven’t played this before it’s definitely worth a few minutes of your time.

    Snowblind by lvl DrEvil lvl

Summer is closer every day but winter remains a popular theme in Trials Fusion custom tracks (and this won’t be the only snowy track on this list). lvl DrEvil lvl has wowed us a few times with very well detailed tracks and really fun technical drive lines. Snowblind brings all of that into an intense snowstorm that challenges you to complete the course in the face of the harshest of environments.

    Big Jim by DRAGONMICKY1

This was possibly the first custom track in Fusion that really nailed that “wow” factor. With amazing animation and decoration skills DRAGONMICKY1 was a builder who quickly gained my attention on Evo and I always looked forward to playing his creations (it’s no surprise he ended up sitting across the hall from me with the Redlynx level team). Big Jim continued to grow Micky’s impressive library of tracks with the first of many giant monsters brought to life in Fusion. Possibly the most impressive thing here is the incredibly well done gritty destruction theme, long before Riders of the Rustland and After the Incident DLCs made that style much easier to achieve (these are base game objects, kids). If you haven’t played Big Jim you are missing out on a truly incredible Trials experience.

That’s it for old tracks. There were a lot more I wanted to feature but there’s a lot of great new tracks too and I wanted to make sure to recognize some of them.

    Crooked Teeth by Eevan80

To me, this track defines a “pure Trials” track. It looks great without having a theme that overshadows the track. The drive line is fun and technical, just enough difficulty to present a nice challenge with an obtainable zero fault run. While I certainly enjoy the more spectacular creations a great deal this type of track is among my favorite kind to play and finding a good one on TC is always a joy. Don’t take my word for it, try it out yourself.

    397 Dead End by RaketeAal397

If you’ve been watching our live streams you are probably aware that I love RaketeAal’s tracks. The themes, atmosphere, lighting and, of course, animations are always top notch. While he loves that lip grab obstacle that I’m not a fan of the drive lines are usually pretty fun too. I always look forward to new 397 tracks and this one did not disappoint. Everything is on point as usual and that ending, pure brutal perfection. Do yourself a favor and run this track ASAP and when you’re done do a TC search for “397” to find a whole mess of great tracks from this incredible builder.

    FP: Pacific Paradise by FluffyPrincess

Badger often asks for more nice sunny daytime tracks so, while there are a number of reasons this track made the cut, I’m going to say I picked this one just for him. FluffyPrincess is one half of my favorite track building couple and like her husband SwampBalls she really tries to up her game and expand her skills with every new track. This one is a sunny, fun filled trip around a, well, Pacific Paradise that makes me wish I didn’t live in a part of the world where summer lasts about 5 days. This track is just a good spot of fun and a nice, fast, easy line all Trials players can enjoy.

    SB: Himalayan Hideout by SwampBalls

We just talked about his wife, now it’s time to put SwampBalls in the spotlight. I’ve been pretty vocal about how much I enjoyed watching SwampBalls progress as a builder in the early days of Fusion. Now, two years later, he’s easily among the most impressive builders on Track Central. This track has you infiltrating a facility high in the Himalayan Mountains. I don’t know who Chad is but he’s got some Bond villain level funding based on this facility he’s built in such a remote locale. Again, nice animations and atmosphere really set this track apart and make it a lot of fun to play.

Diamonds & Rust by Ozy Be

OTHG represent! While this isn’t the only track on this list by one of our over-the-hill friends it is the only one with a giant OTHG shout out at the end of the track. In Diamonds & Rust Ozy brings us another artic themed facility with a nice technical drive line that had just enough challenge to bring me back for another go to improve that time. Ozy also has some really fun X-Supercross tracks so if you are into some 8 lane competition this is a builder you should check out.

    Murican Climb XSX by KALzzone8

Speaking of X-Supercross, as my personal favorite multiplayer mode I really wanted to include some X-Supercross in my picks. Unfortunately there aren’t a lot of builders creating these tracks and we’ve already featured most of the best ones. Luckily for me KALzzone8 had my back with the XSX version of his Trials mode track Murican Hillclimb. This is a great uphill driveline that brings just a bit more challenge than most of the easy-medium in-game XSX tracks. Of course bring some friends because what’s better than seeing your competition when you fly by them before the finish line?

That’s my picks for this special 2 year anniversary edition of the Community Recommended feed. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did. Here’s to many more years of Trials riding & building. Until next time, rider, I’ll see you on the leaderboards.
