I couldn't find any definitive information on their inclusion, so I would just like to politely lobby Ubisoft for the inclusion of wild animals in the game, both hostile and passive á la the Far Cry series.
South America has lots of awesome wildlife to choose from, such as anacondas and other snakes, electric eels, jaguars, piranhas, crocodiles, river sharks, other large fish and poison dart frogs. I would only be interested in realistic interpretations personally, which mostly the Far Cry series does very well, apart from the fictional demon fish in Far Cry 4 for example. I also think there should be a greater variety of aquatic wildlife (Far Cry 4 really just had the demon fish and crocodile), and crocodiles or caimans should move about rather than be static in the water. Also, I feel animals should spawn in random locations within a small specified area rather than spawn in the same starting place every time you fast travel, as for me this breaks the illusion a bit that they are wild.
In addition I think it would be good if animals had a variety of attacks, and with aquatic animals like crocodiles for more skill to be involved in defeating them than just lightly mashing the x button. I would be excited to see new mechanics for the wildlife as well as the hunting and crafting, for example perhaps photography and selling photographs for cash, or capturing animals alive to sell as livestock or for materials etc.
One other wish of mine is for the parachute and other flight physics in the game to be authentic.
Overall I think the game looks incredible though and can’t wait to see more footage come E3.
Keep up the great work Ubisoft!
Didn't paid attention on animals while playing cause my focus where somewhere else.
Now I don't think that kind of feature will be add, I mean i'm pretty sure there will be animals to put some realism to the environnement but not as FC.
Remember that it's a open world yes but not the same gameplay, FC is a typical FPS lock and load and animals are hunted for crafting things that fit FC 3, 4 and primal gameplay but GRW is a tactical tps military axed.
In my opinion don't expect that kind of things.
I say leave crafting and hunting out of it. This is Ghost Recon after all and there should be wildlife that is passive or aggressive until the warfare starts. Now crocodile is going to hang around after a SOC-R speeds through with guns blazing and most would scatter at the sounds of gunfire or explosions. Put them in to make the environment realistic but don't make it far cry
If animals were added, it'd be great if the environment responded to how the player moves etc. For example, birds would stop singing/sound warnings if they detected someone moving in the forest (both players and enemy AI) and obviously dogs would bark at strangers in cities/villages. Another thing is that, wildlife shouldn't be overdone; if there are rabbits running around during firefights (like in ****ing ArmA) it's going to only make the game worse.
This is another one of those cool-but-not-so-necessary features. If the game is overall great but animals are missing, I wouldn't care.
PS. If there are animals, horses are a must. (Dat pre-invasion Afghanistan aesthetic)
EDIT. I didn't even think about crafting. Come on. This is Ghost Recon.
