Do something about the lag please

The amount of lag in the DZ is unacceptable. I pay my internet provider for the some of the best bandwidth they have available(85mbps), and this game is lagging 100% of the time I spend in the DZ. This game freezes for a split second every 7 seconds on average, its easily noticeable while running. Sometimes its noticeably worse than what I described. I cant bring myself to believe that this game is doing damage, armor, crit %, buff %, calculations randomly with any feasibly acceptable accuracy with this quality of online performance. I would be interested to know which type of servers are used for gameplay(P2P, Listen, Dedicated?). This issue needs to be looked into.

Interesting. Although not a DZ veteran by any means, I have had zero issues in the DZ. No lag, actually it ran pretty smooth. I guess I would be curious what platform you running on and if its a hardware issues.

It has dedicated servers, BUT how many and where they are located is going to factor heavily into your online experience due to lag a.k.a. latency.

Also, the biggest culprit for latency is people with high(er) pings being allowed to connect with others on the same server who are closer... Something I know to be a fact because while I am in the U.S., I have Japanese, Russian and other non-English languages being spoken in proximity chat.

Sorry to say but that sounds like a computer problem, not the game or your ISP. When you say the game freezes in intervals of 7 seconds, that is a clear sign that it's not internet lag. Chances are you need to do some maintenance on your pc. I know gamers never like to hear that but majority of the time it's our pc's that need fixing, cleaned, updated or improved hardware and such in order to get rid of some of the issues we come across. But everyone wants to believe that their pc is super perfect. All I'm saying is before you blame the game or your ISP, take actions to prove that your PC is running as fine as you think it is. Run tests, check the hardware to make sure it's all good, check ram, check graphics card, check drivers, make sure you don't have excess software installed that you don't need or don't use.

Until you thoroughly test your pc and prove it's running smooth, don't be so quick to blame a game for your problems. Again, Proof means everything and what you've wrote here isn't saying anything except you are getting bad performance and you have no idea why, so you just assume it's the game.

I am playing on a ps4 and experience the same problems, lag and game freezes.

I enabled Upnp on my router and the game is running smooth, yet it freezes for few seconds from time to time.

I am on Xbox One and have similar issues.

It was perfect when the game launched, but every server maintenance seems to have made the stability and quality worse. While my freezes/jumps are not as long as 7 seconds, they are most certainly present. I have between 2-4 second lag before bullets register on a target(not 100% of the time, but at the worst of times)

Servers or the way people are put into instances needs some tweaking.

Playing on PS4 with hectic lag from time to time.

Last night in both Challenge and DZ experienced instances where my firearm will not fire for several seconds. Normally end up very dead after that

I understand the hardware/software headaches of pc gaming, but Im not playing on pc. It is certainly an online issue, as the DZ is the only place it happens. I also play with other people, as well as post on an adult oriented gaming forum, and this issue is present for others.

The location of friends as well as extraction event data inside the DZ while playing outside the DZ probably isn't an issue because the draw data and item calculations are at a minimum. The fact that joining and leaving an instance is as seamless as it is, is really impressive. Im betting that the population of a "lobby", for lack of a better term, exists globally. It appears that packets for draw data, and character calculations for players outside your group aren't sent until entering the DZ. Probably why it craps itself when you enter, but doesn't flinch when you leave. Gosh, I bet the data traffic alone would fry a mathematicians' brain. If this is indeed how the online works then the lag issues are absolutely fixable. I guess it just depends on how it falls on the priority list.

Given how much emphasis seems to be on the Dark Zone, these issues should be right at the top, just behind the Back Pack bug.
