Here is the REAL problem with the crafting changes...

They seem to want to obliterate any PVE from anywhere else except the darkzone, this is a blatant attempt to force players into the DZ where the drops are far more plentiful than the PVE outside of the DZ.

In turn, those who are holding out for a brighter future on the game will go to the DZ to get the mats they need, whether they like it or not, and the massive increase in players there will leave it a wasteland due to mob respawn timers constantly refreshing. The only upside that could be gleamed from this is that it will tip the balance in the favor of rogue hunters as the PVE crowd gets tired of their, my, crap and waves of PVE'ers suddenly turning on the rogues in waves just so everyone can gear up.

Regardless, this is nothing more than pigeonholing players into the DZ as they refuse to increase the drop rate in PVE outside of the DZ. Sure, you can get yourself a HE drop from challenge missions but for those that are forced to PUG up (Pick up group) they could be in those challenge missions for an hour, hour and a half and get a horrible drop, or a decent weapon drop but with horrible talents due to being teamed up with incompetents.

    All that needed changing was...
    • Higher drops across the tier board.
    • Removal of PC for re-rolling HE, which they did.
    • Higher HE drop potential in the DZ.
    • Allow supply drops outside of the DZ for the PVE players.
    • The crafting was JUST FINE outside of PC for re-rolling...should have just left that completely alone.
    • A change in the DEV team thinking by pigeonholing players based off these changes.

Keep it up Ubisoft/Massive and you will see this game hit rock bottom quick. Have you learned nothing from your predecessors such as Diablo, Destiny and just about every other loot based game that have taken massive hits?

If that's the case they should have just made the game one giant DZ so we PvE players could have just passed in this game all together. What a shame.

The only thing there is to learn is that:
    1) People want an expansive loot system, complete with many items and permutations
    2) They want 'rewarding' drops
    3) They want a high drop rate to feel fullfilled and rewarded for completing 'challenges'?
    4) A long time to gear up and perfect character builds.

Last two being contradicting, and pretty much being the crux of loot based games.
You are unhappy if the drops are too scarce.
You are unhappy if gearing up takes too short of a time (people were moaning about having full HE in the first 3 days).

Increasing drops will only lead to gear stagnation. Not increasing drops will lead to player frustration.

Loot systems suck. End of. You need stuff coming in AND out. But people are afraid of losing stuff.

    Enjoy your perpetual carrot-stick nonsense.

    wrong....

Diablo 3 system is just fine and you pretty much get a very rare or set drop once ever hour to hour and a half play time... with much more verity in the gear looks as well

The division seems to have a massive lack of gear verity in terms of looks.

The drop rate is horrid... I have gone 6 hours nonstop farming DZ05 and DZ06 with out one HE drop and that's with 150% scavenging.

The lack of loot system in this game is what forces players to craft.. I have not found one upgrade from a drop.. not one.. everything I have is crafted... that's a major issue with this loot system.

The only reason for a loot based game to become stagnate is that there isn't enough verity of loot.

Agree with the O.P. on this one. I believe Goth was on one of their streams with another streamer. He stated that he currently felt that the last changes are forcing people into the D.Z. which got an odd look and a serious reaction from a few of the devs and community manager. The chat also agreed with him and said it felt like they were forcing PvErs into the DZ.

If this is in fact what they are doing they have no idea how fast many PvE players will abandon ship and find other games to play.

Another obvious thing that shows they are trying to drive more people into the DZ: they didn't mess the div tech crafting. Which means div tech is actually more efficient now. They're forcing you towards the most boring activity in the game.

Oh, and someone mentioned Diablo 3. The drops in the game are in a good place now. Regular rifts will drop a couple legendaries at least. Greater rifts drop eight or more. You actually get stuff from playing the game. Novel idea.

The change to crafting itself does not bother me,
